Dear Mr. Shropshire:
We have been consulted and employed by Mr. Clair S.
Cobaugh, who constructed a home at 215 Longview Drive,
Chesterfield County, Virginia, on property which was for-
merly owned by Mr. George C. Gregory, and in that connection
have been furnished a copy of Mr. Gregory's letter to Mr.
Burnett requesting extension of the water line to this
property.
We have reviewed very carefully contract between Mr.
Gregory and the County of Chesterfield dated December 11,
1945, and have concluded from that agreement that the line
should be extended at no cost to the property owner.
It would be appreciated if you would advise us immedi-
ately just when you intend completing this work in accordance
with the contract.
Yours very truly,

Dear Mr. turnett:
Pursuant to our recent conversation I would appreciate it if
we might have approval on our 2411 O.C. roof truss. This truss
has been tested by Froehling & Robertson, Inc., Engineers.
A co.iV of their test is in the files of Mr. Mumma., Chesterfield
Building Inspector.
This whole matter was discussed with Air. Mumma around the date
of August 1st and we, therefore, would appreciate what expedition
you can give this matter. If any further information is needed
I will be happy to comply.
Very truly yours,

September 17, 1954
Reference is made to your letter of August 23, 1954,
which requested that a report be made in writing concerning
the dumping of garbage and trash in the abandoned coal mine at
Robious.
After the inspection of the site on August 11, 1954,
with the interested parties, it is the opinion of this office
that the condition of the dump at the time of inspection did
not consitute a health menace. However, the practices being
followed do not conform U the recommendations of the Health
Department for the satisfactory disposal of trash and garbage.
It is believed that the existing conditions will become pro—
gressively worse unless a standard landfill operation is
followed.
As for the disposal of trash and garbage, whether it
be collected by a private concern or by the county, the Health
Department recommends that disposal be by use of a standard
sanitary landfill in order to eliminate the ('eating *f nuisances
and potential insanitary conditions in the future.
