VIRGINIA: At an adjourned meeting of the
Board of Supervisors of Chester-
field County, held at the Court-
house on January 31, 1956s, at
8:00 p.m.
Absent:
Idr . HI T. Coyne
Mr. Marshall F.Driskill
This day again the matter of extending Piney Lane westwardly to meet Rt.60 came
before the Board, and Mr. Chase and Mr. Hogan presented certain clarifying state-
ments, however, due to the absence of the Supervisor from this area, the Board
agreed that this matter be delayed until February 14th.
This day the matter of furnishing fire insurance for the County -owned vehicles
came before the Board, and
Whereas, due notice had been given, upon consideration whereof and on motion of
Mr. Hague, seconded by Ur -Britton, it is resolved that the Board award to the
Nationwide Insurance Company and specifically Mr. Leo Myers, its .:agent, the
insurance on County -owned vehicles as per the existing coverages in the total
amount of 14086.61.
On motion of Dr.Gill, seconded by Mr.Hague, it is resolved that the Petersburg -
Hopewell Gas Company be and it hereby is granted the County's approval for the
installation of gas lines in portions of Charles Street and South Street in
the Village of Ettrick, provided said installation meets with the approval of
the County Engineer.
This day the Water Committee recommended the approval of three (3) water contracts
to the following companies:
Land Company of Virginia
0. L. Hopkins
Wm. C.Ttirimmer and Marquis Weinstein
Upon consideration whereof and on motion of Dr.Gill, seconded by Mr.Britton, it is
resolved that this Board approve the above contracts and authorize the Chairman
and the Executive Secretary to sign said contracts on behalf of this Board.
On motion of Mr.Hague, seconded by Mr.Britton, it is resolved that this Board
adjourn to a Committee session to study the proposed new Building Code.
Reconvening into regular session, the Board discussed briefly the sewerage contract
for the Ettrick Sanitary District, and the status of sewerage for the northern part
of the County.
On motihn, the meeting is adjourned until Ibbruary 14, 19569 at 10:00 a.m.
