SESSION <br /> <br /> <br />COUNTY ADMINSTRATOR’S COMMENTS <br /> <br />? <br /> <br />Mr. Stegmaier announced there will be a Veterans Day observance at 2 p.m., Friday, <br />November 11, 2011 at the Historic 1917 Courthouse on Ironbridge Road. <br /> <br />? <br /> <br />Mr. Stegmaier was pleased to report that Chesterfield County was selected as a top 30 <br />finalist for the 2011 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. The <br />Freedom Award is the Department of Defense’s highest recognition given to employers <br />for exceptional support of their employees serving in the Guard and Reserve. <br /> <br />? <br /> <br />Mr. Stegmaier announced this morning the 2011 Revenue Forum was held. This is an <br />annual event where a panel of experts from a variety of key sectors help the county <br />formulate the economic projections that underpin the developments of the upcoming <br />budget. <br /> <br />? <br /> <br />Mr. Stegmaier announced on Tuesday, November 1, 2011, William D. Dupler, Deputy <br />County Administrator for Community Development, was elected president of the <br />International Code Council (ICC). <br /> <br />? <br /> <br />Mr. Stegmaier stated the county has submitted its list of mandates for review to the <br />Governor’s Task Force for local government mandate review. The task force met on <br />th <br />Monday, November 7 and Ms. Mary Ann Curtin attended for the county. <br /> <br />? <br /> <br />Mr. Stegmaier provided details of the incident last Wednesday, when a single engine <br />airplane went down into the Swift Creek Reservoir. Fortunately, residents used their <br />pontoon boat to rescue the pilot of the plane who suffered only minor injuries. Fire and <br />EMS worked to minimize the potential for pollution to the reservoir from engine oil and <br />an estimated 40 gallons of aviation fuel believed to be onboard the plane. <br /> <br />RESOLUTIONS AND SPECIAL RECOGNITIONS <br /> <br />Adopted Resolution recognizing the 2011 Senior Volunteer Hall of Fame Inductees. <br /> <br />WORK SESSIONS <br /> <br />A work session was held regarding the Chesterfield-Colonial Heights Department of Social <br />Services. <br /> 1 <br /> <br />
