SESSION <br /> <br /> <br />COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR’S COMMENTS <br /> <br />? <br /> <br />Mr. Stegmaier announced that Chesterfield County, for the second year in a row, <br />received a "Sunny Award" from Sunshine Review, a national nonprofit organization <br />dedicated to government transparency. The award, which honors the most transparent <br />government websites in the nation, went to only the top 4% (247) government entities <br />out of more than 7,000 government websites analyzed. <br /> <br />? <br /> <br />Mr. Stegmaier announced that last week Meadowville Technology Parkway was <br />connected to North Enon Church Road, adjacent to the Amazon facility, to improve <br />traffic flow and provide better connectivity to Route 10 and the 295 interchange. <br /> <br />? <br /> <br />Mr. Stegmaier was pleased to report that the General Services and Economic <br />Development departments were able to work with VDOT and the Midlothian Initiative <br />to Revitalize Rights of Way (MIRR) group, to retrieve the plantings along Midlothian <br />Turnpike before they were lost due to construction work on the turn lanes. <br /> <br />? <br /> <br />Mr. Stegmaier was saddened to report the passing of Mr. J.K. (Ken) Timmons earlier <br />this week. Mr. Timmons founded his surveying and engineering company in 1953 in <br />Richmond. For over half a century his firm has a made an enormous impact on the <br />Richmond Metropolitan Region, including key infrastructure, communities and public <br />purpose projects such as: Swift Creek Reservoir, Chesterfield County Airport, <br />Brandermill, the bridge over the reservoir and St. Francis Medical Center. <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTIONS <br /> <br />Adopted Resolution recognizing Mr. Jackie Grissom, Sr., General Services, <br />Buildings and Grounds Division, upon his retirement. <br /> <br />Adopted Resolution recognizing the late Debroah Klevenz Altice, Deputy <br />Registrar, for her services to Chesterfield County. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> 1 <br /> <br />
