SESSION <br /> <br /> <br />COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR’S COMMENTS <br /> <br />? <br /> <br />Mr. Stegmaier reported that the county has been informed by the Center for Digital <br />Government of this month’s winners of its annual Digital Counties Survey, and <br />Chesterfield County ranked FIRST among counties with populations of 250,000 to <br />499,000. Chesterfield has placed in the top 10 four times. The competition is a <br />collaborative effort by the Center for Digital Government, Government Technology and <br />the National Association of Counties. <br /> <br />? <br /> <br />Mr. Stegmaier reported that Mr. Greg Allen from the Planning Department was named <br />as the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce’s “Member of the Month” for July. Mr. <br />Allen was nominated for his work with the Chesterfield Chamber to help meet the <br />business needs of the committee with regards to the banner ordinance and for his ability <br />to provide guidance and assistance without directing the decisions of the committee. <br /> <br />? <br /> <br />Mr. Stegmaier reported that last week the Governor announced a significant expansion <br />of bike trails and addition of a bike pavilion at Pocahontas State Park. The new center <br />will be a significant contribution to Chesterfield County’s expanding sports tourism <br />industry. <br /> <br />Ms. Renee Chapline, Executive Director of Virginia’s Gateway Region, presented an update to <br />the Board on activities of the economic development organization, which serves the cities of <br />Petersburg, Hopewell and Colonial Heights, and the counties of Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, <br />Prince George, Surry and Sussex. <br /> <br />Ms. Sytira Saunders, Planning Technician, provided an update on customer service and other <br />processing enhancements for the community with upgrades to the Chesterfield Development <br />Information System. <br /> <br />RESOLUTIONS <br /> <br />Adopted Resolution recognizing Mr. Tom B. Hoekstra as Chesterfield County’s <br />2013 treasured volunteer. <br /> <br />Adopted Resolution recognizing Mrs. Judith B.
