SESSION <br /> <br /> <br />COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR’S COMMENTS <br /> <br />? <br /> <br />Mr. Stegmaier announced that Mr. Fred Angel, a long term Customer Operations <br />Administrator in the Utilities Department, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. He <br />expressed condolences to Mr. Angel’s family. <br /> <br />? <br /> <br />Mr. Stegmaier reported thatNational Night Out occurred on Tuesday August 6, 2013, <br />and was very well attended by residents and public safety personnel throughout the <br />county. There were 108 block parties, including 26 apartment complexes, with 15 <br />different McGruff routes. Approximately 9,700 residents participated in this year's <br /> <br />National Night Out. <br /> <br />? <br /> <br />Mr. Stegmaier announced that the Government Finance Officers Association of the <br />United States and Canada awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in <br />Financial Reporting to Chesterfield County for its Comprehensive Annual Financial <br />Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2012. This was the thirty-second <br /> <br />consecutive year that the county has achieved this prestigious award. <br /> <br />Mr. Jon Lugbill, Executive Director with Sportsbackers updated the Board on sports tourism in <br />Chesterfield County and the surrounding region. <br /> <br />Mr. Jim Beamer, Managing Director, Legislative Outreach of Dominion Resources, Inc., <br />updated the Board on the Pocahontas State Park Mountain Bike Trails Project. <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTIONS & SPECIAL RECOGNITIONS <br /> <br /> Recognition of 2013 NACo and VACo Achievement Award winners. <br /> <br />Adopted Resolution recognizing Mrs. Sandra F.
