SESSION <br /> <br /> <br />COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR’S COMMENTS <br /> <br />? <br /> <br />Dr. Edward E. Raspiller, president of John Tyler Community College introduced <br /> <br />himself to the Board of Supervisors. <br /> <br />? <br /> <br />Mr. Stegmaier was pleased to report that the James River Advisory Council had a very <br />successful regional river cleanup last Saturday. More than 900 volunteers among 15 <br />sites picked up trash along the James River and several feeder creeks or streams, <br />working to make the river a cleaner place. <br /> <br />? <br /> <br />Mr. Stegmaier introduced State of Virginia’s Emergency Management Citizen Corps <br />Director, Ms. Linda Rubin and the President of Virginia First, Mr. Gary Lupton who <br />presented an award to county representatives Ms. Sherri Laffoon of Emergency <br />Management and Ms. Debbie Leidheiser, Senior Advocate. The Virginia Department of <br />Emergency Management's Citizen Corp Program has awarded this program as "Most <br />Outstanding Program" due to the innovative and collaborative team efforts of Human <br />Services and Public Safety groups to reach out to home health care organizations. <br /> <br />? <br /> <br />Mr. Stegmaier was pleased to report that the 2013 Best of the Web awards winners <br />have been announced and Chesterfield County has been selected as one of the finalists. <br />The program showcases governments whose websites demonstrate innovation, usability <br />and functionality for users. <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTIONS & SPECIAL RECOGNITIONS <br /> <br />Adopted Resolution recognizing Battalion Chief Mark R. Nugent, Fire and <br />Emergency Medical Services Department, upon his retirement. <br /> <br />Adopted Resolution recognizing Firefighter Dale Field for his heroic efforts. <br /> <br />Adopted Resolution recognizing Corporal Michael D.
