VIRGINIA: At am adjourned meeting of the <br />Board of Supervisors of Chesterfield County~ <br />held at the Courthouse on April 29~ 1965, at <br />2:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mr. Irvin G.Horner, Chairman <br />Mr. H. T. Goyne <br />Mr..R.J.Britton <br />Mr. J.Ruffin. Apperson <br />Mr.Herbert O.Browning <br /> <br />Mr. Ernest P.Gates, Comm. Atty. <br />Mr. Robt. Martin absent due to hospitalization. <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr.Apperson, seconded by Mt.Browning, it is resolved that the minutes <br />of April 14, 1965, be and the same are aoproved. <br /> <br />65-8S. Mr. Mam of the Mann Realty Company comes before the Board requesting a <br />Use Permit in Rlidlothian ~agisterial District, to construct a Radio Tower on a <br />three-acre parcel of land of t~iangular shape, fronting 770 feet on the southern <br />right of way of the Southern Railroad and having an average depth, of 190 feet, <br />the property being 535 feet northeast of the crossing of Route 714 and the <br />Southern Railroad, which request has been deferred from April 14, 1965. <br /> <br />Mr. Harmon an~ Mr. Martin of the Motorola Electronics Corporation state that the <br />Company will be responsible for any interference in the immediate area and state <br />'further th~ their Company will furnish and pay for the installation of the <br />interference filters should same be required in the immediate area. <br />Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of Mr.Britton, seconded by Mr. Goyne, it ~ <br />is resolved that the application for a Uwe Permit to construct a Radio Tower be . <br />and it hereby is anproved with the provision of the guaranteed interference filters! <br />in the immediate area. <br />Mr.Apperson abstains from voting. <br /> <br />There was reada petition from the Southaven Subdivision on Elkhardt Road signed ~V <br />some 71 families requesting sewerage facilities in their area. Upon consideration <br />whereof, and on motion of ~r. Britton, seconded by Mr. Goyne, it is resolved that <br />this Board requests the Engineering Department to review the situation as soon as <br />POssible to ascertain the feasibility of c~nstructing a sewer system in this area. <br /> <br />Whereupon, Mr.lgalter Smith and others come before the Board in opposition to the <br />request previously passed, stating that through a misunderstanding they had waited <br />in the main courtroom for this he~ring. R~.Smith cites letters sent to Mr. <br />Martin,Supervisor, in opposition and states that most of the people in the area <br />object to the proposal. <br />It is here' noted that after consideration the Board took no further action on this <br />matt er. <br /> <br />There appeared several p~ople in support of a County-wide Library System and speak <br />generally of the nec~ssity for the establishment of same. Upon consideration <br />whereof, and on motion of Mr.Apperson~ seconded by Mr. Goyne, it is resolved that <br />this Board appoint a Library Board on May 1 2, 1965. <br /> <br />On motion of ~r.Britton, seconded by ~r.Apperson, it is resolved that ~he petition · <br />from the Pinetta Drive area be referred to the Highway Department for investigation!~ <br />concerning the intersection of Buford Road and North Pinetta Drive. ~ <br /> <br />On motion of Mt.Browning, seconded by Mr. Britton, it is resolved that the Engineering <br />Department be requested to review the petition concerning the maintenance of the <br />Powhite Sewage Lagoon. <br /> <br />Three p~ople from the vicinity of the intersection of Kingsland Road and Chester <br />Road come before the Board requesting further consideration for a s~.reet light on <br />this corner, which had been denied previously by this Board. <br />On motion of Mr. Goyne, seconded by ~r.Apperson, it is resolved that the entire <br />Board visit this site for further consideration. <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. Br~tton, seconded by Mr.A~person, it is resolved that the following <br />Special Water Contract~ be and they hereby a re approved: <br /> <br /> ~C-179G - ~oodmont, Section E ~,9~O.17 <br /> AR-tO3J -Worthington Farms, Section F 12,912.O0 <br /> <br />On motion of Mr.Britton, seconded by Mr.Apperson, it is resolved that the Chairman <br />and Clerk of this Board be authorized to sign an Agreement with the Highway Depart- <br />~nt for moving utility lines for the improvement of ~almsley Boulevard. <br /> <br /> <br />
