Goyne, seconded by Mr.A~person, it is resolved that the minutes <br />ii of l~iay 12, 1955, be, and the same are approved. <br /> <br />On motion of 2~'[r.Britton, seconded by Mr. Brownirus, it is resolved that the .following <br />Ordinance se and the same is hereby re-adopted: <br /> <br /> aN OR~I~,~A~CE ~o amend $~ct. 11-16 of the Code of the County of <br /> Chesterfield, Virginia~ to eliminate payin~ compensation to <br /> Clerk for the collection of the recordation tax imposed by <br /> ~rvicle III, Chapzer 1!' <br /> 8E IT ORDaI~ED SY the Board of Supervisors of the County of <br /> Chesterfield, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. that oecz. 11-16 of the Code of the County of ghesterfield~Virginia, <br /> be repealed and reordained as follows: <br /> <br /> The Clerk of the Circuit Court of this County collecting v:~e tax <br /> imposed under this Artlcle, shall pay the same into the trea~:.ury of <br /> this County. The Clerk shall receive no compensation for his services <br /> in collecting the tax imposed by this Article. <br /> <br />On motion of I'.~ir. Martin, seconded by Mr.Apperson, the following resolution is <br />adopted: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Douglas K. ~7oolfolk and Elizabeth S.h~oolfolk, his wife, are the <br />owners of Lots 29 and 30, Block D, Section 3, Cambridge Subdivision, Midlothian <br />District, Chesterfield County, Virginia, as shown on plat of LaPr~qde ~ros., Civil <br />Engineers, Richmond,Virginia, dated January 31, 1963, record~ed March 6, 1963, in <br />Plat Book 13, Page 21, in the Clerk's Office of the CircuitCourt of Chesterfield <br />County, Virgihia; and <br /> <br /> WY~ERE~S, said owners have petitioned this Board to abandon a portion <br />of the 16-foot easemenv which runs southwestwardly between Lots 29 and 30, Block <br />Section 3, Cambridg~e Subdivision, and designated, "Easement Proposed to be <br />Abandoned" and shown in red on plat made by LaPrade Bros., Civil Engine:ers, Richmond, <br />Virginia, dated May 3, 19~5, a colby ~f which is attached; and <br /> <br /> WHE~E~S, the proposed vacation and abandonment will not interfere with <br />any rights of any other parties not consenting thereto by their executing the <br />instrument of vacation and abandonment exhibited with this ~?:~ition. <br /> <br /> NOW, i'M~iKE~'OhE, WI'±'[~bSETY~: That the Board of Supervisors do hereby <br />a7~prove the vacavion and aba~dO~ent of th~-~t portion of the 16-foot easement running <br />sSuthwestwardly betv~een Lots 29and 30, Block D, Section 3, Zambridge Subdivision~ <br />Midlothian District, Chesterfield County,Virginia, as shown in red on the attache~ <br />ulat, and the declarazion of vacation and abandonment exhibited with the petition. <br />herein shall be recorded in said Clerk's Office, and said Clerk shall indicate the <br />vacation on the margin of the recorded plan of Cambriage, Section 3, recorded in <br />said Clerk's Office, in Plat Book 13, Page 21, and shall enter the same on the <br />Grandor side of the General Index of Deeds in the names of the parties hereto. <br /> <br />k4r. William Ritchie and others of the M~toaca High School Activities Boosters' <br />Club come before the Board requesting further action and the Board's guarantee <br />of one-half the cost of making certain improvements to the recreational facilities <br />at the Matoaca High School and presented plans for said improvements. On motion <br />of l~r. Browning~,seconded by ~r.Britton, it is resolved that this Board requests <br />the School Board to approve th plans presented and to finance one-half of the <br />cost of this projecv by Bond funds. <br />And be it further resolved, that in the event Bond money is not available, that <br />this Board will guarantee ~10~000 as a loan until such time as the Bonds are <br />sold. <br /> <br />Mr. Burgess of the Burgess Construction Company comes before the Board seeking <br />approval of plans for the construction of Chippenham Square Shopping Center arD <br />it was point, ed out that this property had been zoned with the specific under- <br />standing that a Nursing Home ~.,~ould be corsbructed and that the Commonwealth's <br />Attorney further points ou% that the zoning of this property is questionable <br />since it did not go ~o the Planning Conmmission according to the new State law. <br />Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of I'~'[r.Britton, seconded by ~,Tr. Browning~ <br />it is resolved thsv the approval of these plans be denied. <br /> <br /> <br />
