¥IRGINI~: At an adjourned meeting of the <br />Board of Supervisors of Chesterfield <br />County, held at the Courthouse on March <br />196~, ~t 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mr. H.T.Goyne, Chairman <br />~. Irvin G. Hornet <br />~,~. R. J.Britton <br />Mr. Herbert O.Browning <br />i~r. J.Ruffin Apperson <br />5~r. A.X.~artin <br /> <br />l'~r.William Ailler,Engineer and I',~r.J.Louis Longest come before the Board requesting <br />the right to defer the ~stallation of certain stub streets, leading off of <br />Percival Street in Section "M" in the subdivision of Chester ~nd state the fact <br />that ,the Chesterfield Land Company is the owner of the surrounding land, and in any <br />even~e~id land is sold the stub streets would be put in properly.~ <br />Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of Mr. Horner, seconded by ~'~r. Britton, <br />it is resolved that the Commonwealth's Attorney be requested to prepare a contract <br />to be signed ~y the Chester Land Company for recordation, which contract would <br />give the County adequate safe guards in the future developments of this street. <br /> <br />On motion.of Mr. Britton, seconded by ~r. Hornet, the following resolution is <br />adopted: <br /> <br /> WHErEaS, William A Long, Betty A Long, his wife, and C.F.Bryan are the owners <br /> of all the land abutting )did-City Road, lying between the southern line of <br /> Lot 2, Block D, Mid-City Farms, extended, and the northern line of property <br /> owned by your petitioners; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said William A. Long and Betty A. Long, his wife, and ~C.F. <br /> Bryan have executed a Declaration of Vacation for the purpose of vacating <br /> Mid-'~ity Road, lying between the southern line of Lot 2, Block D, ?.'~id-City <br /> Farms, extended, and the northern line of property owned by your petitioners <br /> for the purpose of using said property as a part of Bryan Ridge, subdivision <br /> plat of which is recorded in Ylat Book 13, pages 22 and 23, that portion of <br /> said plan of i~.~id-City Farms to be vacated being shaded in red on a plat of <br /> Philip H.Brooks, Certified Land Surveyor~ dated November 5, 1963, attached <br /> thereto; and <br /> <br /> WHE~EA~, ?~illiam A. Long, Betty A. Lon~, ~iswife and ~.F.Bryan are all the <br /> owners of property abutting said road; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 15-766.1 of the Codeof Virginia (1950) as amended, <br /> William A Long, Betty A. Long, his wife, and 'J.F.Bryan,desire to vacate the <br /> aforesaid plan of su~division to the extent and according to said Declaration <br /> of Vacation; and, <br /> <br /> W~EkEaS, the proposed vacation will not interfere with any rights of any party <br /> having any interest in the road not consenting thereto; <br /> <br /> NOW, ThE~E~.'Oi%E, WITNESSETH: That the Board of Supervisors do hereby approve <br /> %he vacation of l~'!i~-City 5oad lying between the southern line of Lot <br /> Block D, I~did-~City ?ant, s, extended, and the northern line of oroperty owned by <br /> your petitioners as ~haded in red on the plat attached to the Declaration of <br /> vacation; and the Declaration of Vacation exhibited with the petition herein <br /> shall be recorded in the .~lerk's Office of the '.Circuit Court of the Uounty of <br /> Chesterfield, Virginia, and said ~Clerk shall indicate the vacation on the <br /> margin of the recorded plan of Mid-City Farm, recorded in the Clerk's Office <br /> in Plat Book ~, pages 9~ and 99, and shall enter the same on the Grantor side <br /> of the General Index of Deeds in the names of the parties hereto. <br /> <br />The~'e was read s report from the Dog Committee ~oncerning its meeting on <br />March £, 1965 and cited the following recommendations: <br /> <br />1. That the salary of J.L.Gettings be raised ~!O.O0 per month. <br /> <br />2. That the Dog Wardens be put under the supervision of the <br /> Chief of Police. <br /> <br />That a temporary license checker be hired not to exceed <br />six (6) months. <br /> <br />Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of I~lr.Browning, seconded by Mr. <br />~pperson, it is resolved that the recommendations of the Dog Committee be <br />and they are approved. <br /> <br />On motionof Mr. Browning, seconded by Y.r.I~".artin, it is resolved that the <br />request of the Matoaca Sportsman Club for the County to furnish electric <br />current to the Club's ball park be and it hereby is approved. <br /> <br /> <br />
