At an adjourned meeting of the <br />Board of Supervisors of <br />field County, held at the Court- <br />house 6n April 24, 1951, at <br />8;00 p.m. <br /> <br />Pre sent: <br /> <br />J. G. Hening, Chairman <br />H. T. Goyne <br />J. C. McKesson <br />Robert O. Gill <br />James W. Gordon, Jr. <br />Irvin G. Homer <br /> <br />This day the Board met at its meeting place at the Courthouse and repaired to the <br />Court room of the Circuit Court.~n order that the la rge numbers of people be <br />afforded adequate room to attend the Board meeting to discuss the question of the <br />election on the ap~r oval of the County Board Form of Organization and Government. <br />And it appearing to the Board that it is the con~ensus of the large n~uber of <br />persms present that an election should be call=d on the question of the approval <br />of the adoption of the County Board Form of County Organization and Government, it <br />is agreed that the resolution and petition on this subject of April lO, 1951 be <br />presented to the Judge of Circuit Court. <br /> <br />At the request of this Board, i~ir. Stuart Gibson, Clerk of the Circuit Court of the <br />County of Elizabeth City, addressed this Board and the public there gathered, on <br />the plan of the County Board Form of County Organization and Government, and its <br />operation in Elizabeth City for the past lO years. And this Board being <br />well pleased with his presentation of the subject doth desire to publicly and of <br />record to commend him for this presentation; on motion, it is resolved that this <br />Board by unanimous vote doth thank Mr. Stuart Gibson for hi.~ presentation of the <br />subject and it is further ordered that a copy of this resolution be mailed to ~r. <br />Gib son. <br /> <br />The Board adjourned until 10:00 a.m., ivlay 8, 1951. <br /> <br />Executive Secretary <br /> <br /> <br />
