VIRGINIA: At an adjourned meeting of the <br /> Board of Supervisors of <br /> Chesterfield County, held at' the <br /> Courthouse on April 4, 1952, <br /> at 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Irvin G. Homer, Chairman <br />H. T. Goyne <br />J. P. Gunter <br />R. J. Britton <br />Robt. O. Gill <br />S. R. Hague, Jr. <br /> <br />This day 'a group of citizens appeared before the Board seeking some relief in <br />the quality of telephone service in their area as rendered by The C&P Telephone <br />C ompan y. <br /> Upon consideration whereof and on motion of Mr. H. T. Goyne, second~ by <br />Mr. R. J. Dritton, it is resolved that the Chairman appoint a Committee %O wait <br />on the CaP Tele¥,hone Company in regard to said service in the area north of <br />Proctor's Creek to the Bellwood Depot in Dermuda District, and if such action <br />should fail, to bring the desired results, said Co~mmittee be authorized to go <br />to %he State Corporation Co~mnission to seek the relief necessary. <br />The Chairman appointed l~ir. H. T. Goyne and the Executive Secretary to act as <br />this Go~nittee. <br /> <br />This day the Executive Secretary presen%ed a request from Mrs. Ethel P. Smith, <br />Field Director of the Virginia and Virginia County Magazine for an ad of one <br />pag$ at the price of ~175.O0, said ad to be in the June issue which would <br />currently' feature the County of Chesterfield. <br /> Upon consideration whereof and on motion of ]~r. H. T. Goyne, seconded by <br />Mr. J. P. Gunter, it is resolved that the sum of ~175.00 be and it hereby is <br />appropriated from the unexpended surplus of the General Fund of the County to <br />the Virginia ~gazine for said advertisement. <br /> <br />This day Mr. E. S. H. Greene, Supt. of Schools, oresented to the Board a request <br />from the School Board to appropriate $21,000.00 to cover the costs of salaries <br />of extra teachers for the current year ending June 30, 1952. <br /> Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of R~. J. F. Gunter, seconded by <br />Mr. R. J. Britton, it is resolved that the amount of $21,000.00 be and it hereby <br />is appropriated from the unexpended surplus of the General Fund to the School <br />Board to cover salaries of extra teachers for the current year. <br /> <br />This day the Executive secretary presented certain portions of the proposed <br />bud~]et for the year ending June 30, 1953. <br />After much discussion the meeting was adjourned until the regular meeting of <br />the Board on april 8, 1952. <br /> <br />Executive Secretary <br /> <br />Chairman <br /> <br /> <br />
