Gunter Robt. O. Gill R. g. Britton S. R. Hague, Jr. On motion of ~[r. H. T. Goyne, seconded by Mr. J. P. Gunter, it. is resolved that the Buiidin~.s and Grounds Committee investi.'rate the offer for sale of land adjoining the Courthouse property on the v;est, said land beJn~ at the corner of ~t. /tio. ' This day the Executive S~cretary read to ~ ~e Board a recommend'~tion from the Water Committee of pay raises for the Utility Construct'!on crews. Upon consideration whereof and on motion of Mr. Ha~lue, seconded by Dr. Gii]., it is resolved that this Board acce?.t this ,~ay scale as recommended and authorize same to be paid on the next pay Deriod. ©n motion of ~,lr. ii. J. mritton, seconded by Mr. H. T. Goyne, it is resolved that the Ex~cutive Secretary be and he hereby is revue ted to invest~ate the proposal allowing Schmitt's ~tore to co!]ecl utility biils and the same be done with the approval of the Treasurer of the County if an investigation warrants it. This day the Executive ~ecretary submitted a proposal of sendin~,~ the water bills every two months instead of every month as at present, and on a sta?,,%ered system, beginnin~,~ with the l~y b~iling. On motion of Mr. Britton, seconded by Mr. Goyne, it is resolved that this action be authorized and the Executive Secretary be directed to send out bills every two months on a 50~/'~ sta~,'?%ered basis. This day the matter of obtaining a right-of-way from Randolph Street to Toffy Street across ~rivate property in the Village of Ettrick, came before the Board, and it appearing that the citizens owning said private property were unwilling to grant free passage for said sewer line, upon consideration of which and on motion of Mr. Britton, seconded by Mr. Gunter it is resolved that the matter be referred to the Ettrick Sanitary District Committee for its action in obtaining the right-of-way at no charge to the Ettrick Sanitary District. This day Mr. W. F. Lewis, Civil ~ngineer from the City of Riclunond, appeared before the Board requesting an easement of certain dedicated lands along the Grindell Creek. Upon cons~.leration whereof and on motion of Mr. Britton, seconded by Mr. Goyne, it is resolved that the County of Chesterfield grant said easement to the City of Y[ichmond as s'; ecif:ied on the plat filed with the Board's paper providing zhe City azrees'to maintain promptly ~d adequately the drainace flow in said drainage ditch. I t is understood herewith that the Highway agrees to provide adequate culverts under Route #1. The undersigned County Road Engineer havin!~ been directed at a previous meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Chesterfield County to examine Hill Street and Tipton Street in the subdivision of "Mi!horn" in Bermuda Magisterial Dis~rict a.'~d report to this Board the expediency of establishing said roads as public roads, reported as follows: That he went upon said roads and examined the same and is of the opinion that ~here is a necessity for the establlshmen~ of same as public roads, and furti~er: (1) The said roads will be of great public convenience (2) That they will not be of mere private convenience (3) No yard, garden or orchard will be taken (~) The said roads are in a subdivision of isu~d dedicated to the Common- wealth of Virginia and therefore land o~'~ers along said roads will noL receive compensation.
