VIRGINIA: At an adjourned meeting of the Board o£ <br /> Supervisors of Chesterfield County was <br /> held at the Courthouse on August 26, 1952, <br /> ,at 5:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Irvin G. Homer, Chairman <br />H. T. Goyne <br />Robt. O. Gill <br />R. J. Britton <br />J. P. Gunter <br /> <br />Absent: Stanley R. F~gue <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. H. T. Goyne, seconded by Mir. Britton, it is resolved that this <br />Board request the ~irginia Department of Highways to improve the Dump Road, <br />which leads southwardly from Route 10 at a cost not to exceed $500.00, said <br />sum to be paid from the 3¢ Road Fund. <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. H. T. Goyne, seconded by I~r. Gunter, it is resolved that the <br />Executil~e Secretary be and he hereby is directed to have raised the coverage <br />for bodily injury on the fleet poli~y covering the cars for the County from <br />$15,OO0 and $30,000 to $25,~00 and $50,000. <br /> <br />This day i~lr. Geo. W. Moore, Jr., appeared before the Board pledging all possible <br />support to the Board in his new position as Treasurer of Chesterfield County <br />beginning September 1st, and to request the Board to purchase a l~-column <br />adding machine and a calculator for the Treasurer's Office. <br /> Upon consideration whereof and on motion of Dr. Gill, seconded by ~r. <br />Britton, it is resolved that the Executive Secretary be and he hereby is re- <br />quested to obtain bids on ~he aforementioned adding machine and calculator and <br />present bids to the Board as soon as possible. <br /> <br />This day the Board discussed the possibility of purchasing two (2) additional <br />fire engines, the cost of which would be delayed to the end of the fiscal year <br />and it was agreed by the Board that this matter would be referred to the <br />Co~mnonwealth,s Attorney for his approval of the legality of such action· <br /> <br />This day the Executive Secretary advised the Board that l~r. Frank Landrum had <br />been in the employ of the County for more than two years, and his salary had <br />not been raised since December, 1950. <br /> Upon consideration whereof and on motion of ~. H. T. Goyne, seconded by <br />I~r. Gunter, it is resolved that the salary of l~r. Frank Landrum be and it here- <br />by is raised from $3120.00 to $3500.00 per year. <br /> <br />3, 19~ is ordered that the meeting be now adjourned until 4:00 p.m September <br /> <br />Executive S@cretary <br /> <br /> <br />
