VIEGIi~IA: At an adjoun~d meeting of the <br /> Board of Supervisors of Chester- <br /> field ~ounty, held at the Court- <br /> house on September 3, 1952, at <br /> 4:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Irvin G. Horner, Chairman <br />J. P. Gunter <br />H. T. Goyne <br />R. J. Britton <br />Robt. O. Gill <br />Stanley R. Hague, Jr. <br /> <br />On motion of l~r. J. p. Gunter, seconded by i~r. R. J. Britton, t he following <br />resolution was adopted: <br /> <br />Whereas, J. William D~nce, Treasurer of Chesterfield County has resigned from <br />that office effective as of August 31, 1952,.and <br /> <br />Whereas, the Judge of the Circuit Court has accepted the resignation of J. Wm. <br />Dane, f rom the office of Treasurer, and has appointed in his stead George W. <br />Moore, Jr., effective as of September 1, 1952, to occupy the Office of Treasurer <br />of Chesterfield County for the remainder of the term to end December 31, 1955. <br /> <br />Therefore, be it resolved, that this Board take cognizance of these facts, and <br />be it further resolved that ali depository banks be and they are hereby instruct- <br />ed to change their account titles from- <br /> <br />County of Chesterfield, By--J. Wm. Dance, Treasurer <br /> to read <br /> <br /> County of Chesterfield, By-Geo. W. Moore, Jr. Treasurer <br /> <br />Further Resolved, that all depository banks be furnished a reconciled statement <br />showing the exact amount in County funds to be transferred from one account to <br />the other, stipulated above as of September 2, 1952. <br /> <br />Said depository bm~ks are further directed to hold funds to the credit of the <br />first account sufficient to pay all outstandin~ checks signed by J. ~,Vm. Dance, <br />Treasurer, County of Chesterfield, than those checks listed as outstanding in <br />the reconcilment recorded herewith. <br /> <br />Said depository banks are further authorized and directed to pay from September <br />2, 1952 on until further notice, all checks signed by Geo. ~. Moore, Jr. as <br />Treasurer of Chesterfield County in the routine management of the County's <br />financial affairs. List filed with Board papers. <br /> <br />This day the Executi'¢e Secretary pointed out that a previous motion of August <br />12, 19~2, considering t~e esta01ishment of Bellwood Voting Precinct was not in <br />or der. <br /> Uoon consideration whereof and on motion of Mr. H. T. Goyne, seconded by <br />Flr..Britton, said motion be and the same is hereby reecinded. <br /> <br />On motion of lWir. H. T. Goyne, seconded by Mr. R. J. Britton, it is resolved that <br />the Executive Secretary be and he hereb~ is directed to present the following <br />resolution to tl~e Clerk of Circuit Cour~ for such action as ti~e Court may take: <br /> <br />VIRGINIA <br /> <br />IN T~E CIRCUIT COURT OF CHESTERFIELD COUNTY <br /> <br />Petition to chan~e the boundaries of the <br />~hester and DrewrY's Bluff election <br />districts and to establish therefrom a new <br />Bellw0od Election District <br /> <br />TO THE HONORABLE JUDGE OF SAID COURT: <br /> <br /> The Board of Supervisors hereby respectfully petitions the Court to change <br />the present boundaries of the Chester and Drewry's Bluff election districts in <br />Bermuda I~agisterial District by forming therefrom a new election district to be <br />known as the Bellwood Election District, and bounded as follows: On the north <br />by Kin§sland Creek, west by the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad, east by the James <br />River, and south by Proctor's Creek. <br /> <br />The Board of Supervisors is informed and believes that there are approximately <br />200 qualified 'voters wiuain the proposed election district; that the votin§ <br />population of the area is rapidly increasing due to the large number of con- <br />structed residences and that the present arr~mgement with respect to the location <br />of the Re~istrars and the voting places is inconvenient and unsatisfactory for the <br /> <br /> <br />
