This day ~. C. F. ~ell~n, and others of the Department of Highways met with the
Board of Supervisors to discuss the rural road program for the coming year. The
following list of roads were discmssed and it was generally agreed that this
matter be deferred until more information as to the costs of various projects
is obtained:

This day the officials from the Highway Department discussed the tentative
Secondary Budget for the year 1953-'54, pointing out the various improvement
plan o
Upon consideration whereof and on motion of l,h". Britton, seconded by ldr.
Goyne, it is resolved that this budget as presented be and the same is hereby
approved.
This day it was reported that the Amelia Board of Supervisors had received a
copy o£ our resolution along with a letter of explanation, pertaining to the
Board's actions on the proposed survey of a bridge across the Appomattox River.
On motion of ~dr. Hague, seconded byMr. Goyne, it is resolved that this Board
request the Virginia Department of Highways to improve that northernmost
crossroad connecting Oxford Drive with )~nor Road in the subdivision of
Centralia Gardens, at a cost not to exceed $400.00, said cost to be paid from
the 3¢ Road Fund of the County.
And be it f~rther resolved that one-half of this cost be charged to the
subdivider, ~ir. J. T. i~bore, who has agreed to pay such amount.
This day there was a discussion concerning the Court's decision in the annexation
case of recent date between the City of Colonial Heights m~d the County of
Chesterfield, and it was generally agreed that the matter would be investigated
by the ~dividual supervisors to a greater degree before m~y action is taken.
