VIRGINIA: At an adjourned meeting of the <br /> Board of Supervisors, of Chester- <br /> field County, held at the Court- <br /> house on March 18, 1954, at 8:00 <br /> p.m. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Irvin G. Homer, Chairman <br />J.P. Gunter <br />R.J. B~itton <br />H. T. ~oyne <br />Robt. 0. Gill <br />Stanley R. Hague, Jr. <br /> <br />This day the matter of employin~ counsel for the proposed sewer bonds came before <br />the Board, and <br />Whereas, it appears that Wood, King and Dawson of New York, ~s tho bonding firm <br />suggested by the Commonwealth's Attorney. <br />Now, Therefore, Be it Resolved on motion of Mr. ~itton, seconded by Mr. Goyne, <br />that the legal firm of ~ood, King and Dawson be andthe same is hereby employed <br />as bonding attorneys in the proposed issuance of sewer bonds. <br /> <br />This day the matter of putting in water lines and the policies now existing governin <br />the installation of water lines CaChe before the Board, and Whereas, it appears <br />that there is now an extensive demand for water lines in newly developed subdivision <br />and <br />Whereas, it appears there does not exist now sufficient capital outlay with which <br />to install these extensions of the water mains, <br />Now, Therefore, t~ it Resolved, on motion of Mr. Goyne, seconded by ~r. Gill, <br />that the Executive Secretary be and he hereby is directed to suspend al! extensions <br />of water lines until further action of this Board. <br /> <br />The Chairman impresses upon the Water Committee the necessity for quick action <br />in recommending future policies for the extension of water to the Board. <br /> <br />This day Mr. J.S. Stephenson and Mr Paul Byrne came before the ltoard seeking again <br />some agreement in installing water in the subdivision of Nottingham, and after <br />consideration of this problem it is agreed by tho Board of Supervisors that this <br />matter be delayed for further investigation and consideration. <br /> <br />This day }ir. James Sowers, }~. Yinkney Sowers and ~'*r. St. Clair, came before the <br />Board seeking to get the Board*s approval of the proposed construction of pre- <br />fabricated houses. After lengthy discussions settin~ out the merits of such <br />homes, it is generally agreed by the Board that it will delay action in this matter <br />for further investigation. <br /> <br />The Chairman hereby appoints the entire Hoard to be the ~uilding Committee. <br /> <br />On motion of mr. Goyne, seconded by Mr. Gunter, it is resolved that Boyd Street <br />in Chester Heights be taken into the Secondary ~ystem when said street meets the <br />approval of the Resident Engineer and the County Road Engineer. <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. Gunter, seconded by Mr. Hague, it is resolved that the minutes of <br />iMarch 9th pertaining to the rezoning application of ~tr. W.L. Petway be amended as <br />follows: <br /> <br />It is resolved that the lots in the proposed subdivision of Granite ~cres, <br />facing Granite Road, remain Residential-l, and all lots south of said rear lot <br />line be and the same is hereby zoned to Residential-2. And be it further <br />resolved that Lots i and 12 in Block A, and Lot 23 in Block E, be cranted <br />exception as to lot widths and other restrictions of R.-1 to remain in force. <br /> <br />iOn motion the meeting is adjourned until March 22, 195~, at 8:00 p.m. <br />/ ' ' ~ Exe~utive Secretary <br /> <br />Cha irman <br /> <br /> <br />
