house on March 18, 1954, at 8:00

Present:

This day the matter of employin~ counsel for the proposed sewer bonds came before
the Board, and
Whereas, it appears that Wood, King and Dawson of New York, ~s tho bonding firm
suggested by the Commonwealth's Attorney.
Now, Therefore, Be it Resolved on motion of Mr. ~itton, seconded by Mr. Goyne,
that the legal firm of ~ood, King and Dawson be andthe same is hereby employed
as bonding attorneys in the proposed issuance of sewer bonds.
This day the matter of putting in water lines and the policies now existing governin
the installation of water lines CaChe before the Board, and Whereas, it appears
that there is now an extensive demand for water lines in newly developed subdivision
and
Whereas, it appears there does not exist now sufficient capital outlay with which
to install these extensions of the water mains,
Now, Therefore, t~ it Resolved, on motion of Mr. Goyne, seconded by ~r. Gill,
that the Executive Secretary be and he hereby is directed to suspend al! extensions
of water lines until further action of this Board.
The Chairman impresses upon the Water Committee the necessity for quick action
in recommending future policies for the extension of water to the Board.
This day Mr. J.S. Stephenson and Mr Paul Byrne came before the ltoard seeking again
some agreement in installing water in the subdivision of Nottingham, and after
consideration of this problem it is agreed by tho Board of Supervisors that this
matter be delayed for further investigation and consideration.
This day }ir. James Sowers, }~. Yinkney Sowers and ~'*r. St. Clair, came before the
Board seeking to get the Board*s approval of the proposed construction of pre-
fabricated houses. After lengthy discussions settin~ out the merits of such
homes, it is generally agreed by the Board that it will delay action in this matter
for further investigation.
The Chairman hereby appoints the entire Hoard to be the ~uilding Committee.
On motion of mr. Goyne, seconded by Mr. Gunter, it is resolved that Boyd Street
in Chester Heights be taken into the Secondary ~ystem when said street meets the
approval of the Resident Engineer and the County Road Engineer.
On motion of Mr. Gunter, seconded by Mr. Hague, it is resolved that the minutes of
iMarch 9th pertaining to the rezoning application of ~tr. W.L. Petway be amended as
follows:
It is resolved that the lots in the proposed subdivision of Granite ~cres,
facing Granite Road, remain Residential-l, and all lots south of said rear lot
line be and the same is hereby zoned to Residential-2. And be it further
resolved that Lots i and 12 in Block A, and Lot 23 in Block E, be cranted
exception as to lot widths and other restrictions of R.-1 to remain in force.
