Traylor, Firefighter William <br />J. Jeffords, Jr. and Firefighter Michael C. Harrell. <br /> <br />Summarvof Information: <br /> <br />On August 30, 2004, Lieutenant Steven V. Traylor, Firefighter William J. <br />Jeffords, Jr. and Firefighter Michael C. Harrell dramatically rescued 20 <br />people trapped in Falling Creek Apartments. Topical Storm Gaston delivered <br />the equivalent of a 500-year rain, flooding the bottom floors of the <br />apartment complex. With water rising and at least one building beginning to <br />crumble, people were trapped on the second floor threatening to jump. <br />Lieutenant Steven V. Traylor, Firefighter William J. Jeffords, Jr. and <br />Firefighter Michael C. Harrell assisted with the rescue of six occupants to <br />the one accessible window, where they helped victims cross a straight ladder <br />balanced between the window and the aerial ladder basket.
