VIRGINIA: At an ad!ourned meeting of the Board <br /> Of Supervisors of Chesterfield <br /> County, held at the Courthouse at <br /> 8:00 p.m. on March 16, 1949 <br /> <br />Pree~nt: <br /> J.O. Hening, Chairman <br /> P.W. Covington <br /> Irvin G. Hornet <br /> H. T. Goyne <br /> James W. Gordon, Jr. <br /> <br />Absent: J.C.NcKesson <br /> <br />There anpeeared before the Board a delegation from the Kingsland area, again <br />requesting that water lines be extended from Bellewood Manor to #l and as much <br />along #l as could be supported. After a lengthy discussion, end on motion <br />of H.T.Goyne, it is resolved that the Executive Secretary be and he hereby is <br />instructed to have installed a 6" water line fromthe water system in Bellewood <br />~anor along Willis Road to the intersection withRt.628 and around Rt.628, across <br />~l to-Rt. 1625, thence along Rt. 1625 to its intersection withal and Ki, ngsland <br />Creek, and along #l from the intersection of ~1 to Rt. 1625 to Raymond s Service <br />Station, as soon as sufficient number Of connections kve beeh paid for to give a <br />12% return on the cost of installation. <br />And be it further resolved that there be spent for t~e installing of pipe, no~ <br />including the cost of pipe, not more than $5,000.00. <br /> <br />This day a delegation from the Ettrick Voluntee~ Fire Deparment appeared before <br />the Board and stated that they were in need of a new fire truck in Ettrick to <br />serve the outlying territory a nd that if the CourZy would furnish a new truck <br />for that purpose that thevwould be glad to relieve the County of any payment of <br />monew to them for their services. Upon consideration whereof, and on motion <br />of P.W.Covington, the Executive Secretary is instructed to endeavor to get prices <br />mn a new chassis and thebuilding of a fire body on the same, and report to this <br />Board at the April meeting. <br /> <br />This day Mr. BrockwelI stated that the doors of the fire house at Ettrick needed <br />some repairs and they had found more satisfactory doors c ould'be installed for <br />$175.00. Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of P.W.Covington, it is <br />resolved that the Ettrick Volunteer Fire Department b e instructed to have' <br />new doors installed in the Ettrick Fire house at a cost not toexceed $175.00. <br /> <br />This day the Executive Secretary presented t he budget for Chesterfield County <br />for the'year 1949-'50 inclusive of the School Budget amd the Departmen~ of Publi~ <br />Welfare, and s rated it had been approved bY the Budget Committee. Upon <br />consideration whereof, and onmotion of H.T.Goyne, it is resolved that the budget <br />for 19&9-'50 as submitted be and it hereby is tentatively adopted, and the <br />following leviesfor the Near 1949 were tmntatively fixed as foll~s: All Distri~t~ <br />$2.0~; Ettrick Sanitary District $2.40; machinery 10¢. And the Board thereupon <br />fixed Wednesdaw, April 27, 19&9, at 8:00 p.m. as the time for the final hearing an~ <br />adoption of this budget. <br /> <br /> Ordered that %he meeting be now adjourned until 2:00 p.m. March 18, 1949. <br />E~e~dtive secretary--- <br /> <br /> <br />
