Covington <br />J.C.~cKesson <br />James W.Gordon,Jr. <br />Irvin G.Horner <br /> <br />At an ad~ournedmee~ing of the'] ....... <br />Board of Supervisors of Ches~er~ <br />field County,~hetd at the Court. <br />house on September 6,~1949, at <br />8:00 p.m. · <br /> <br />This day the following below listed zoning matters came before this Board, and it <br />appearing that due advertisement was had and made concerning the same, to-wit: <br /> <br /> (1) In Manchester Magisterial District, Lot 22, Blocks B and C, in the subdivision <br /> of Falling Creek, fronting 200 feet on Falling Creek Avenue and running back parall,,1 <br /> to the Atlantic Coast Line Tracks to the Courthouse Road Overpass. This applica- <br /> tion is made by The Chase Construction Company and is for rezoning from Residential <br /> to Manufacturing. <br /> <br /> (2) In Bermuda Ma:risterial District, Lots i and 2, in Block 5 in the subdivision <br /> of Normandale Terrace. This application is made by ~tr. Sam. Ellison and is fcr <br /> re~oning from Residential to General Business. <br /> <br />~3) In Bermuda Magisterial District, Lots 58 to 68, inclusive, in Block 4 and Lots <br />3 to 9, inclusive, in Block 5, in the subdivision of "Normandale Terrace". This <br />application is made by Mr. William Drucker, et als, and is for rezoning from <br />Residential to General Business. <br /> <br />(4) In Clover Hill Magisterial District, on the west side of Rt. $O~, between Rts. <br />603 and Rt. 604, approxi~ately one mile from Rt. 360. This application is made <br />by Mr. Wm. H. Sims and is for rezoning from Agriculture to Local Business. <br /> <br />Upon consideration whereof, and on motion, it is resolved, that the respective <br />application for rezoning be and they are hereby approved and the land is zoned <br />accordingly. <br /> <br />This day the matter of the application of J. M. Carter for a Use Permit to construct <br />a combination residence and store house building on Rt. lO, opposite Carver High <br />School, came before the Board. Upon consideration whereof, and on motion, it is <br />resolved that the Use Permit for such purpose be and it is hereby granted. <br /> <br />This day the matter of the rezoning of certain property on Rt. 655, approximately <br />2 miles west of the Courthouse, application being made by James G. Owen, came befo~'e <br />the Board, and no one appearing proposing the same, the matter is, on motion, con- ~ <br />tinued until the next meeting of the Board. <br /> <br />This day a larg$ delegation appeared before the Board and requested the Board to <br />what it could to shorten the squirrel season in the County of Chesterfield, the <br />same being from September 15 thru Sept. 30th, After a long discussion concernin$ <br />the same, and the Board being of the opinion that the squirrel ~eason should be <br />shortened or cut out entirely, it is, on motion, resolved that the Virginia Game <br />and Inland Fisheries Commission be and it hereby is requested to shorten the squirrel <br />season in the County of Chesterfield by ending the same on the 16th day of Septembe~, <br />1949. <br />A~d be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be certified to the said <br />Commission. <br /> <br />This day a delegation from McGuire Village, Chesterfield County, headed by Dr. Hoga~ <br />c~e before the Board and earnestly requfested that the Board install fire hydrants <br />in and about McGuire Village. Upon consideration whereof, and on motion, it is <br />resolved that the petition be denied. <br /> <br />This day Mr. Guy Bayliss of Grindall Creek Park came before the Board and requested <br />that this Board install street lights in and about Grindall Creek Park subdivision. <br />Upon consideration whereof, and on motion, this matter is referred to the Light <br />Committee. <br /> <br />This day Mrs. Rigby of "Derwent Gardens" came before the Board, representing other <br />people in said subdivision, and requested this Board to recommend to the Virginia <br />Department of Highways that it take into the Secondary System the roads in said <br />subdivision. Upon consideration whereof, and on m~tion, it is resolved that the <br />Virginia Department of Highways be and it hereby is requested to take said roads <br />into the Secondary Road System, upon the condition that an adequate culvert be <br />placed under the road. And be it further resolved that the Executive Secretary <br />be and he-hereby is directed to complete the details in making this request to the ~ <br /> <br /> <br />
