<br />This day representatives f rom the firm of Scott, Homer and Mason, Inc., appeamed
<br />before the Board to discuss the closing of the sale of $300,000.00 worth of

<br />Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of J.C.McKesson, it is resolved that the
<br />Board of Supervisors of Chesterfield County sell to Scott, Homer and Mason, Inc.,
<br />$400.000.00 worth cfr evenue bonds for Chesterft~ ld County at an interest rate of
<br /> O~ motion, St is~ resolved that $100,OO0.00 of the ~roceeds of this sale be used
<br />fbr ~e' pur¢~'~s~ ~nd payment of $1OO,000.00 worth o~ Manchester Sanitary District
<br />~onds now outstandYng~ On this matter Mr.H.T.Goyne voted "No" and asked that
<br />his vob~ De so recorGed.
<br />This day Mr. W. A. Horner appeared before the Board asking for a Use Permit to
<br />erect an apartment house at the intersection of Dorset Road and W~rwick Road in
<br />,Chesterfield Court". Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of H. T.
<br />Goyne, it is resolved that the Executive Secretary be and he hereby is instructed
<br />to advertise this request for public hearing at a later meeting.
<br />This day the Executive Secretary stated that he had received further bids from his
<br />requests on the 100,800 gallon water tank and that the Pittsburgh Des-Moines
<br />Steel Company now appeared to be low bidders and Mr. Beck, representative of the
<br />P~ tsburgh Des-Moines Steel Company appeared before the Board and s tared he would
<br />ell two (2) 100 OO0-gallon water tanks for $35,280.00, guaranteed price, and
<br />s , i rovided no strikes or other calamity
<br />delivery to be made before June l, 949, P
<br />befell them. Upon consideration w~xereof, and on motion of James W.Gordon, Jrt,
<br />it is resolved that the County of Chesterfield purchase two (2) lO0,O00-gallon
<br />water tanks from the Pittsburgh Des-Moines Steel Company of Pittsburgh, Pa., in
<br />accordance with their bid for the sum of $35,280.00 one t9 be erected near Bun Air
<br />and one on Route #l, near Dutch Gap corner.
<br /> Secretary stated to the Board that Mr. M.E.Jones, of

<br />combined frontage of 205 feet and tha~'Mr. Jones wished to subdivide theoe into
<br />three building lots, which under the Zoning Urdinance would require 220 fee~
<br />frontage. Upon cunsideration whereof, and on motion of H.T.Goyne, it ms
<br />resolved that the Executive Secretary inform Mr. Jones that the Boar~.must conform
<br />to the Zoning Ordinance and deny perm~ sion to so divide these lots.
<br />This day the Executive Secretary read a letter from James B.Friend offering to the
<br />County the water system in "Brenda Court". Upon consideration whereof and un
<br />motion uf H.T.Guyne, the Chairman is requested to appoint a Committee to view this
<br />system and report back to this ~oard.
<br />Whereupon, the Chairman appointed Mr.H.T.Goyne and the Executive Secretary as
<br />th~ Committee.
<br />This day ~r.. Ir~vin G. Homer state~ that from his observation and from the compara~qle
<br />traffic coun~ ~rom Rt. 60 and Rt.360, there was more need of a four-lane road on
<br />Rt.360 than on Rt.60. Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of Irvin G.
<br />Horner, it is resolved tha~ithe Board of Supervisors of Chesterfield County request
<br />the Virginia Department of Highways to give consi&eration to the improvement of
<br />Rt.360 and establishing a four-lane highway from the City Limits of Richmond a s
<br />far west as the crossing of Nuttree Creek.
<br />This day Mr.H.T.Goyne stated he ~d a complaint from M~.E.M.Davis of Ettrick about
<br />the water pressure in his home. On motionof H.T.Goyne the matter is referred to
<br />Mr.P.W.Covingto~, SuperVisor of ~atoaca District and the Executive Secretary,
