VIRGINIA: At a special meetin~ of <br /> the Board of Supervisors <br /> of Chesterfield County, <br /> held at the Courthouse <br /> on October 21,1946, et <br /> 2:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />R.L. Watkins <br /> <br />This day the Executive Secretary presented to the Board an application from !,~. <br />R.E. Sutton, for a permit to establish a dog kennel on the Warwick Road, near <br />~pthill Heights". Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of ~,.A. Homer, <br />it is resolved that this matter be continued for hearing on November 12, 1946. <br /> <br />This cay ~r. T.D. Watkins, stated that there had been a consiaerable number Of <br />requests for the t~king in~o the Secondary Road System, a road leading to the <br />property of L~s. Rudd, from Rt. 147, west of ~dlothian, Upon consideration where- <br />of, and on motion of T.D. Watkins, it is r~solved that the County Road Engineer be <br />and he hereby is requested to investigate this road and take such steps as necessary <br />to have the same taken into the Secondary Road System. <br /> <br />This day ~.r.T.D. Watkins, stated that he had been reouested to investigate the <br />possibility of having taken into the Secondary Road System, a road in Midlothian <br />District, leadin~ to the Corley property, west from Bon ~ir; Upon condieration <br />whereof, and on motion of T.D. Watkins, it is resolved that the County Road Eh- <br /> be and he hereby is recuested to investigate the same and take such steps <br />as necessary to have this road taken into the Secondary Road System of Chesterfield <br />County. <br /> <br />This day ~. J.C. Hening stated that there had been a number of requests for the <br />inclusion into the Secondary Road System, a road west from Rt. 649, Newb~'s Bridge <br />Road, known as the Burton Road. Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of <br />J.G. hening, it is resolved that the County Road Engineer be and he hereby is <br />instructed to investigate the sane and take such steps as necessary to have this <br />road taken into the State Seconaary Road S~stem of Chesterfield County. <br /> <br />This day the E~ecutive Secretary presented an ap~lication from ~Irs. Anne F. L~yers, <br />for the re~oning of a parcel of land on Rt. 10, at the intersection ~ith Rt. 145. <br />Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of J.C. Rening, it is resolved that the <br />Executive Secretary be ~nd he hereby is instructed to advertise the same to be <br />considered at a public hearing on November 12, 1946. <br /> <br />This day application ~as submitted from Mr. Cail ~J. Erb for the rezoning of an area <br />near "Bellewood ~anor" from Residential to Local Business for the purpose of erect- <br />lng a barber shop. Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of H.T. Coyne, it is <br />resolved that the ~xecutive Secretary be instructed to adVertise the same and that <br />a public hearing be held on this matter on November 12, 1946. <br /> <br />This day an application from ~. S.B. Pruden was submitted by the Executive Secre- <br />tary, to establish a general merchandise business on the north side of Rt. ze0, <br />apDrovimately 1/~ mile west of the Nanchester High School. Uoon consideration <br />whereof, and on motion of '.,'.A. Homer, it is resolved that this~matter be continued <br />until Nowmber 12, 1946, for a decision. <br /> <br />This day an apDlication was presented by ~. W.D. Ferebee for a permit to erect a <br />grocery store and eating establishment on Rt. 60, about 1/4 mils east of the inter- <br />Section of Rts. 60 and 653. Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of T.D. <br />batkins, it is resolved that this matter be held over until November 1£,194d for <br />action. <br /> <br />This day the Exscu~ive Secretary read a letter from the 0lc Dominion ~iousing <br />Administration, enclosing a sample resolution that they would like to have enectec <br />by the Roard of Supervisors of Chesterfield County. Upon consideration whereof, <br />and on motion of ~'J.A. Horner, it is resolveG that the Commonwealth's ~ttorney be and <br />he hereby is requested to prepare a suitable resolubion in this matter to be submit- <br />ted to this Board on Eovember 12, 1946. <br /> <br />This day the attention of the Board was called to the fact that a number of houses <br />were being built in Chesterfield ~ounty which were unsafe and unsatisfactory, and it <br />~Jas f.olt ~hat so~e steps shculd be taken to restrict such building.
