enacred option on a v:ateI' supply system for the '-.J.ubdi vision-"Bellwood Manor".
I.rr. Mumford reported thE.t up to the present time there has been twenty-five to
thirty-fi ve homes sold und that eighty-five homes were under vlay and in
various st tes of completion. 'i'he balarwe of the homes hed '@:een started and
Viould be completed without delay. Upon consideration whereof. bnd on
notion of H. 'l'.Goyne, it is resolved that the 00nun.onwealth's Attorney be and he
hereby is roquesteu to draw ap a deed from <<:.uinnford Home s, Inc. to tLe County
of Chesterfield includinr all necessary parties and also including the ter.ms
of optional agreement concerniIl€' the lien for water rents.
This day 1:r. \iilliam Old. "-I.ttorney. \>'1110 had been assigned certain de1inruen t
tax accounts to collect reports that after examination of title he discovered
th8t five of the caseB submitted should be closed and removed fron the Land Beak
as non-existing. Upon considercition v:hereof and on motion of H. T. Goyne.
the 11r. ,iilliam Old ..h.ttomey. is instructed to prepare the proper resolution
to be presented to the 00nmittee to have these parcels of le.nd stricken from the
Land Book.
This day the Game iiarden. 1:r.~.J.Gorman. presanted a claim of l.:r. n.D. Eotley,

'.L:he .Executive .3ecretary reported that the auditional work being placed upon the
Rationing board due to registration for gasoline rationing had l~ecessitated
consiaerab1e volunteer help and presented a request from the Chairman of the
Rationing Board, Hr. jighn W. Snead, that the (;ounty permi t the use of certain
monies appropria~ed for Civilian Defense to be used to defray the expenses
incurred by obtaining this volunteer help. Uponconsideration whereof and on
notion of P. \1. Covin€:ton, the Executive Secretary is instructed to use the
necessary money appropriated for Civilian Defense for this purpose.

of pressing business in these troubled times during the fiscal year was brought
before the Board, and upon consideration whereof and on motion of H.T.Goyne,
it is r0s01ved that the resolution adopted in the matter on June 23, 1942,
denying the payment be and it hereby is rescinded.

who have requested suoh payment. refeive compensation for the untaken portion
of their vacation equal to their salary for thet period.

that in prosecuting the collection of delinquent taxes certain expenses
were incurred which should be taken care of prior to the sale of property. and
requested that a sum be appropriated to take care of this matter.

sum of $500.00 be and it hereby is appropriated from the unappropriated surplus
of the General l!und to the payment of special attorneys fees.
