Ramsey <br /> <br />Summary of Actions Taken by the Board on December 19, 2001 <br /> <br />3:00 P.M. SESSION <br /> <br />COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR'S COMMENTS <br /> <br />A choir of county employees, led by Deputy County Attorney Jeff Mincks performed <br />several musical selections. <br /> <br />o Captain Karl Leonard from the Police Department provided the Board with information <br /> relative to his service as an active duty Coast Guard reservist. <br /> <br />Commonwealth's Attorney William Davenport and Prosecutor Tom McKenna reviewed <br />initiatives of Project Exile and presented a video of a commercial produced for <br />Chesterfield Project Exile, which is another tool to combat handgun violence in the <br />county. <br /> <br />Parks and Recreation Department staff members were commended for awards received at <br />the Virginia Recreation and Park Society's (VRPS) Annual Conference. Mr. Mark <br />Pinney, Center Director at the Bensley Community Building, was named "Best New <br />Professional" in the state; the "Distinguished Private Sector Award" went to Philip <br />Morris U.S.A. for their teambuilding construction and landscaping project at Henricus <br />Historical Park; and Mr. Greg Sager, Community Recreation Manager, was recognized <br />for his leadership in 2001 as president of the VRPS. <br /> <br />cD County Administrator Lane Ramsey provided an update relative to the Rayon Park sewer <br /> issue. <br /> <br />RESOLUTIONS AND SPECIAL RECOGNITIONS <br /> <br />Adopted <br /> <br />Resolution recognizing The Boulders and CB Richard Ellis, Incorporated <br />as the Developer of the Year for 2001. <br /> <br />Adopted <br /> <br />Resolution recognizing Ms. Sharon Randol, Quality Coordinator for her <br />contributions to Chesterfield County. <br /> <br />The following department Employees of the Year for 2001 were recognized: Ms. Anne Butz, <br />Mental Health/Mental Retardation/Substance Abuse; Mr. Craig Condrey, Building Inspection; <br />Ms. Pamela Craze, County Attorney's Office; Ms. Laura L. Dalton, Parks and Recreation; Ms. <br />Marilyn Dundon, Community Corrections; Ms. Virginia Duvall, Commonwealth Attorney's <br /> <br /> <br />
