VIRGINIA: A~ an adjourned meeting o~ <br /> the Board of Supervisors of <br /> Chesterfield County, held at <br /> the Courthouse on July 17,195 <br /> at 8:00 p.m0 <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mr. trvin O. Horner, Chairman <br />Mr; H. T. Ooyne <br />Mr. Stanley R.Hague, Jr. <br />Mr. R.J.Britton- <br />Mr. Marshall F, Driskill <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br /> Dr. Robt, 0. Gill <br /> <br /> This day the Executive Secretary reported that the Treasurer and the $¢hool <br /> Superintendent had requested $141, 161.29 to be appropriated to the Sohool Board. <br /> Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of Mr, Goyna, seconded by Hr. Britton, <br />:it is resolved that' this Board appropriate the sum of $141,161.29 to the School <br /> Fund to finance the school system through the l~th of July, 1956, said appropriati <br /> to come from the Seneral Fund of the County.. <br /> <br />0n motion-of Mr. Ooyne. seco nGed by Mr. Driskill, it is resolved that this Board <br />recommend to the Judge of Circuit Court, the Hon. Milliam 01d, the appointment <br />of Mr. Mason T. Chal~ley. Mr. James W. Applewhite, Mr. James J. Hubbard and Mr. <br />Oeorg~ T. Martin, to be police officers for the County of Chesterfield. <br /> <br />This day ~he Executive Secretary presented to %he Board the siEned deed for the <br />two-thirds of an acre of land from Mrs. Alice Colzbill, alon~ with a 0curt Order <br />requesting the Board of Supervisors to pay to the Commonwealth~s Attorney the <br />sum of $50.00 for examinin~ the title tosaid parcel of land. <br />Upon consideration whereof and on motion of Mr. ~oyne, seconded by Mr.Britton, <br />it is resolved that said Court Order bo received and filed with the Board's <br />papers, and the Executive Secretary be and he hereby is authorized to pay to <br />the Commonwealth's Attorno¥ $50,00 for examination of tho title to the land of <br />Mrs. Alice Cogbill. <br /> <br />This day the Vir§i~ia Gasoline Retailers Association, Inc., presented in writing, <br />objections to the water ban in the County of Chesterfield which prohibited the <br />washing cars by service stations within the County. <br />Upon consideration whereof and on motion of Mr,Sritton, seconded by Mr. Driski11, <br />it is resolved that the following ordinance be and the same is hereby adopted: <br />It is here noted that Mr. Hague votes "No". <br /> <br />AN-- ORDINANCE <br /> <br />An Ordinance to amend an ordinance adopted by the Board of Supervisors on <br />l)ecember 14, 1~4, to regulate and control the use of water in Chesterfield Count <br />during emergencies. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD 0F SUPERVIMORM OF CHESTERFIELD OOUNTY THAT:. <br /> <br />Section 2. of the Ordinance adopted December 14,1956 to regulate and control <br />the use of water in Chesterfield County during emergencies be and the same <br />hereby is amended and be enacted to read as follows: <br /> <br /> 3. That it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation, <br />whose water supply is furnished from the Chesterfield County water system during <br />any declared emergency to water or sprinkle lawns and gardens or to use water <br />at the home or place of business for any purpose not reasonably essential to <br />health, or proper operation of said business between the hours of 7200 a.m. and <br />10:00 p.m, each day for which said emercency has-been declared, The washing of <br />automobiles shall be permitted bStween the hours of 10:00 a.m.and 4:00 p.m. <br />durinc an emercency period. <br /> <br />An emergency existing this Ordinance shall, become and be effective upon its <br />pa ssage, <br /> <br />This day there was read a list of roads taken into the State Secondary System of <br />roads by the State Highway Department, effective July 15, 1956, whiohlist is as <br />follows: <br /> <br />From Int. Rts. 2213 and 2225 and running N. to Welford Avenue. <br />Olive Avenue, Chesterfield Court Subdivision. <br /> <br />Length 0.15 mile <br /> <br />From Int. of Rt. 1737, 0.10 Mi. So. of Rt. 1737. 0/10 Mi. E. to Westgate Drive. <br />thence 0.10 Mi. E. to Clarendon ~ive. Length 0.20 mlle. Bannister Lane- <br />Wayland Subdivision. <br /> <br />From Int. of Rt. 1738 and 1735 and runnin& 0.10 Mi. E. to Clarendon Drive, <br />Channing ~ane - Wayland Subdivision. <br /> <br /> <br />
