Garland Doddl Vice chairman Staff in Attendance: Attorney Mr. Daniel called ~he me,ting to order at the Courthouse at 3:30 p.m. (EST). Mr. ~drick advised the Board that the County will save in the Library ~ystem by reducing part-time s%aff and $1O0;O0O by eliminating the us~ of bookmobiles. ~e state~ that more savinge ~ay be rea!izod when reviewing ~ach library individually as to its management. Mrs. Girone suggested that some of the savings be put into the purchase of additional books for the ~ystem. ~. Daniel stated the purpose of this meeting wa~ tO held a work session on the legislative proposals which would be discussed with the rspresentatives to the General Assembly r~presen=ing Chesterfield county. The Board discussed the l~gislative proposals. (A copy of which i~ filed with the paDess of this Board.) Mr. Bookman r~quested that staff investigate %he possibility of charging for half a load rather than full load~ at th% Chester landfill wheu it can be readily determined tha~ only a half of a load is being delivered. Mr, Hedrick ~tated that ha would check into the matte/ b=t indicated that with certain types of truck~ ~t is more easily determine~ and wi~h others it is not. On motion of Mrs. Girone, seconded by ~r. O'Neill, th~ Board went into Executive Se~i0n to discuss real estate matters as permitted by Section ~.1-344 (a) (2) of the Cod~ of Virginia, 1950, a~ amended.
