Mr. Frank Gee, Resident Engineer with the Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation, ~as present. He stated that [he Department would weleom~ any comments at the Prealloca[ion Hearing and they would like to encourage the Board to do go. Nr. Gee stated that the las? fear-lane length of the Chippenh~ project was expected ?o be uompleted by June 1, t982 and they ar~ ~% ahead of schedule at this time. [te stated Lhat the Route 360 project h~s ~een accepted exeep~ for ~he installation cf the lights at the cloverleaf. He stated that the Route 9SO ~ridge project at the Amelia line will begin ~bout April 1, 1951. ~e stated that the Department bas investigated the intersection of Hopkins and Beulah and there may be a solution by aligning the two roads if right- o~ way is do~a~ed. He stated that it would cost about $~5,000 ~nd funds weald ~e expended from the revenu~ sharing ~Unds for ~hi~ project. ~r. Bookm~ stated that the Highway Depavtmen% had widened ~ portion of Genit~ Reid by pulling th9 ditches back and he felt t~is would be bene£i¢iel throughout the County. Mr. Gee eta%ed that a project of ~he same type had begun cn Kin~sland ~oad ~nd at long as the property owners donate the right-of-way, the projects ars feasible. ~rs.
