MILLER, SR., requests renewal of r:obile Home Permit 83SR102 to park a mobile home on property front- ing the south line of Velda Road, approximately 600 feet west of Jefferson Davis Highway and better known as 2651 Velda Road. Tax Map 82-13 (1) Parcel 40 (Sheet 23). The first permit was issued July 14, 1976. The mobile home is located on property belonging to the applicant. The Health Department reports no environmental health hazard in existence. Adjacent property owners state no objection to this request, which is for seven (7) years. Staff finds there are twelve (12) mobile homes and two (2) mobile home parks located within one-quarter (1/4) mile of this property. Homes in the general area of this request are in the $20,000 average price range. This request appears to be in character with the neighborhood at the present time. The mobile home is located in an area designated by the Central Area Land Use and Transportation Plan for medium density residential and commercial use. Adjacent property is zoned ~tesidential (R-7). Development in this area gives the neighborhood a residential character. This is an old well established subdivision. The majority of the dwellings in the area are mobile homes as opposed to frame or brick dwellings. This mobile home has been located on this site for the past thirteen (13) years. This is one of the best maintained properties in the area.
