RE VEST: Conditional use to permit a communications tower in an Agricultural (A) District.
PROPOSED LAND USE:
A 158-foot communications tower, employing a monopole design with internally
mounted antennas, and associated improvements are planned. Since the tower
would not meet the restrictions for towers in an Agricultural (A) District a
conditional use permit is required.
(NOTE: IN ORDER FOR THE BOARD TO CONSIDER THIS REQUEST AT THEIR
OCTOBER 27, 2010 PUBLIC HEARING, A $1,000.00 DEFERRAL FEE MUST BE PAID.)
The applicant has withdrawn this request. The Board should acknowledge this withdrawal.

The applicant submitted an additional proffered condition.
Planning Commission Meeting (4/20/10):
The applicant accepted staffs recommendation, but did not accept the Planning
Commission's recommendation.
Providing a FIRST CHOICE community through excellence in public service
There was opposition present expressing concerns relative to visibility from residential
areas; impacts on property values; placement of tower in a commercial area; and a
deterrent to new home buyers.
Mr. Hassen stated it was important to consider community input; the policy indicated
"may" be suitable for "R" districts; and that the applicant had not tried locating the tower
on the opposite side of Route 10.
On motion of Mr. Hassen, seconded by Mr. Bass, the Commission recommended denial
of the request.
AYES: Messrs. Hassen and Bass.
NAYS: Messrs. Brown and Waller.
ABSENT: Mr. Gulley.
Due to the lack of a majority vote, the case carried over to the Commission's May 18,
2010 public hearing.
Staff (4/21/10):
The applicant was advised in writing that any significant, new or revised information
should be submitted no later than April 26, 2010 for consideration at the Commission's
May 18, 2010 public hearing.
Staff (4/27/10):
To date, no new information has been received.

Commission's recommendation.

October 27, 2010 public hearing. Also, the applicant was advised a $1,000.00 deferral fee
must be paid prior to the Board's public hearing.
