Bolking, Chairman of the Hanover County Board of Supervisors; and The Honorable John A. Conrad, Vice May~r of the City of Richmond. Mr, Kaechale than recognized Mr. Virgil R. Hazelett, P.E., ~en~i~o County Manager, who offered some general co--ante concerning the conten~ and £orma~ of the agenda before in%reducing, the facilitator~ MS. Christine Miller~ Vice ~reeident of Human Services for Trigon Blue Cross Blue Shield. MS, Miller diso~sed housekeeping items and the proposed rules u£ c~nduot, then distributed a list cf nine Dialogue ~uid~lines. Mr, Hazelett ~ade a presentation on Regional Crime Prevention. Hm wa~ ~ollewa~ by Mr. Lane B. Ramsay, chesterfield County Administrator, who presented information on th~ Safety Communioation System. The mssting rsoe~ed at aDprowimately 2:20 p.m. and reconvened at 2:40 p.m. with a joint presentation on %he ~egional GeoqraD~io Information System (GIS) initiative by Berry, Hanover County Administrator, and ~as~inger, Ph.D.~ E~ecutive Director of the Richmond Regional Planning District Co~misslon, Mr. Berry and Mr. Massinger then respond~d to mevaral questionz from participants. At the ~uggestion of ~s. Miller~ the participants bypassed the ssoond scheduled break on the agenda and the G~S disoussiO~ Was immediately followed by a joint presentation on Regional convention Facilities by Mr. Jo~n M. Ha~ar, Chairman of the Metropolitan Richmond Convention and visitors Bureau, and Mr. John F. ~erry, Jr,, President o£ th~ Metropolitan Richmond Convention and Visitors Bureau, Mr. Hager and Mr_ ~erry made Centre. There were a number of questions and extended discussion among par~icipant~ concarnin~ the proposed funding of this init±stirs. 9~ 380 ~/20/95 at 4:10 p.~. with a presentation on R~gional ~ublic Transportation. Mr. Robert C. Bcbb, Ri0hnond city Manager~ introduced the topic and was followed by Mr. hello C. Axion, General Manager of the Greater Richmond Transit Company. The~e were several questions and discussion a~ong participants concerning the funding of public transit systems and public transportation districts. The participants bypassed th~ nax~ scheduled break on the agenda and moved irk~ediately into the R~view of I~sues for Future Discussions. A num~®r of vi~w~oin=e were e~pre~med concerning the ti~ing &~d fo~at of future meetings, th~ appropriate forum for refining and promoting regional initiativez, amd the relative priority of individual inltlaPivea. Kr. Kaechele concluded ~he session by requesting that the chief elected officials and chief administrative officers review th~ pcssibili=y of consolidating Ridesharing and paratransit services within the Greater Richmond Transit Company. The facilitator, Ms. Christine Miller~ msked the participants when they felt they w~re r~ady for another follow-up me, ting. After much discussion, it was determined that quarterly wa~ too often and that the next ~eting shoul~ be s~heduled after the ~ovember elections. It ~as ~uggested that the chief elected officials and chi~ administrative officers would meet and develop the schedule and agenda for tho next rugional meeting.
