Mr. Ramsoy introduced Ks. Barbara Faseett~ community Planner
the Planning Department, to brief the Board on the Community
Enhancemen~ Program Quarterly Report.
Ms. Pessett stated that in the first quartert four Community
Enhancement Program {CED) workshops have been held; that forty-
two citizens have participated in the workshops, representing
thirty-two organizations; that eleven venture meetings have
been held, including at least one meeting in e&oh Magisterial
District; and that four new neighborhood organizations have
been formed through the process. She fu~t~er Stated that the
primary interest of most workshop attendees involves the
following community-related activities ~ ~ew to organize a
civic association; how to get people to volunteer; how to
improve communioa=ion between neighbors; and information on
County services. She stated that during ~hs first quarter,
c~tizen~ have been vitally interested in the community building
aspect of the CEP and that staff anticipates that as additional
~eighborhood and community organizations are formed~
rec~ests for project funding will b~ r~caiv~. When a=k~d, =h~
~t~t~d that a ventur~ me,ting consist of two meetings -- one in
discussed and ~e o=her being working with the group to form

Colonel Carl Baker being the guest speaker with the topic of
discussion being the efforts of the County's Police Deportment;
the= last weeks festivities in =he Village of Midlothian went
v~ry well with the coal ~owl football game and the parade~ and
that the Sheraton, located on ~idlothian Turnpike, celebrated
its ten year anniversary and that the county is proud te have
them a~ a ¢orporat~ oi~izea in ~idlothian.
Mrs. ~umphrey stated that sh~ an4 ~r. ~eRale attended ~he
Chesterfield Farm Bureau Annual meeting on October I5, 1996 in
wblch a bond referendum video was shown and very well received
and that she attended a PTA meeting at Matoaca High School on
O~tober ~2, 19~. She fuzthcr s~a~ed that she receive~ a call
from a Midlothian constituent expressing their support of the
new Matcaca Migh School on the upcoming Bond Referendum and

that it was nice to hear that type of message coming from
M~+ McHale stated he and Mrs. Humphrey had a good presentation
a= the Fa~mBureau Annual meeting and that the general feedback
received was very positive; that his next constituents meeting
will be held November 25~ 1996 with the topic of discussion
being the bond referendum and tho ssns=itutionnl amendments
that w~ll be on the upcoming ballot; and that he will be having
a sDeoial on Continental Cable regarding the bond re£erondum on
November 4, 1996.
Mnf. Warren stated that hi~ last constituents meeting was held
October 8, 19~6 in which he met with the Neighborhood
Representative Council, an o~ahi~atiun which repro=eat=
nlnety-~ix communltle~ within Brandermill and noted that no
negative feedback was received about thc bond referendum and
that his next constituents meeting will be held ~ovember 4~
