COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR’S COMMENTS
?
Mr. Stegmaier introduced Ms. Jennifer Kostyniuk, Dominion Virginia Power’s new
Manager of the Central Virginia region for State and Local Affairs.
Dr. Keith T. Miller, President of Virginia State University and Ms. Katherine Busser, Executive
Vice President and Chief Operational Risk Management Office at Capital One, and Rector at
VSU, thanked the county for its support of the university.
Mr. Mike Golden shared a few words and pictures from the KaBOOM playground build event at

Bensley that was held on June 7.

Mr. Stegmaier announced that Hull Street Corridor Revitalization Plan is a 2013 APA
Virginia Award winner. The award will be presented at the awards ceremony at the
APA Virginia Annual Conference in July.
Ms. Muriel Rodriguez, the chair of the Urban Land Institute Richmond Technical Assistance
Panel, provided a presentation to the Board of Supervisors on the ULI’s recent report on the
revitalization of Ettrick Village at Virginia State University.

Mr. Stegmaier reported that staff met with the rating agencies last week to provide them
an update on what is happening in Chesterfield. In those meetings it was determined
that the Board has set a clear course that is paying dividends and has positioned
Chesterfield to continue doing so going forward.

request the Circuit Court to order a special election to consider adopting
a meals tax in order to address the public education and public safety
capital needs of Chesterfield County.

Accepted Report on Status of General Fund Balance, Reserve for Future Capital

CITIZEN COMMENT PERIOD
Mr. Bob Olsen expressed concerns relative to enforcement of the sign and banner ordinances
and to campaign contributions.
CLOSED SESSION
A closed session was held pursuant to Section 2.2-3711 (A) (3), Code of Virginia, 1950, as
amended, to discuss the acquisition by the county of real estate for a public purpose where
discussion in an open meeting would adversely affect the bargaining position and negotiating
strategy of the county.

Mr. Sid Delcardayre, President of Van Go Inc. of Richmond, addressed the Board relative to a
