PROPOSAL
A manufactured home park, known as Plantation Haven, has existed on the request property since
the 1960s. In 2014, a complaint was received relative to various issues within the park. Staff
determined unpermitted permanent additions have been constructed on nine (9) of the
manufactured homes without the requisite zoning exception or building permit approvals.(Exhibit
A)
The Zoning Ordinance only permits temporary accessory structures within manufactured home
parks as self-supporting open porches or decks. Therefore, the applicant is requesting an
exception to permit these existing permanent structures to remain.
It is important to note that if this request is approved, each addition may remain only if it complies
with minimum building code requirements. The following provides an overview of the proposal:
