01-18-1973 Minutes2_96 VIRGINIA: At an adjourned meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Chesterfield County, held at the meeting room of the Courthouse on January 18, 1973 at 5:00 P.M.. Planner Mr. Maynard Elrod Mr. John Henson Mr. Jake Limerick The meeting was called to order to discuss utility problems. The County Engineer explains the history of the construction of the sewage lagoon, the variance of stream standards and the immutable HUD requirements. There was a general discussion about the course of the County's sewer program, and it was generally agreed that tht Coundy Engineer would present to the Water Control Board, as requested, a list of the County's lagoons with possible improvements thereto for additional capacity and a priority rating on each lagoon. On motion of Mr. Myers, seconded by Mr. O'Neill, it is resolved that the County Engineer have preliminary investigations made of the availability of land for the construction of the Proctors Creek sewage treatment plant. Ayes: Mr. Horner, Mr. Myers, Mr. Apperson, Mr. Krepela and Mr. O'Neill. On motion of Mr. Apperson, seconded by Mr. Myers, it is resolved that the Chairman and Clerk of this Board be and they hereby are authorized to sign applications for grants from HUD for sewer programs. Ayes: Mr. Horner, Mr. Myers, Mr. Apperson, Mr. Krepela and Mr. O'Neill. On motion of Mr. O'Neill, seconded by Mr. Myers, it is resolved that the County Engineer be authorized to hire two inspectors to be used in the ir~spection of the connection of home sewers to the County's sewer mains and possibly for drainage inspection of each building lot. Ayes: Mr. Horner, Mr. Myers, Mr. Apperson, Mr. Krepela and Mr. O'Neill. On motion of Mr. O'Neill, seconded by Mr. Apperson, it is resolved that this Board of Supervisors records publicly its opposition to the recommended legislation proposed by the Hahn Commission calling for changes in the law 'to facilitate the creation of service districts. Ayes: Mr. Horner, Mr. Myers, Mr. Apperson, Mr. Krepela and Mr. O'Neill. On motion of Mr. Krepela, seconded by Mr. Myers, it is resolved that this Board adjourns at 11:45 P.M. to January 23, 1973 at 8:00 A.M. S~cre tary
