held at the Courthouse on November 8, 1973
at 5:00 P.M.

The Chairman opens the meeting to discuss the construction of County roads and
drainage problems in many of the subdivisions within the County.
A general discussion of the problem is held with Mr. William Prosise, Assistant
County Engineer, citing that in many subdivisions within the County, roads and
drainage sFstems are not up to County specifications.
On motion of Mr. Apperson, seconded by Mr. Myers, it is resolved th~ the
~irector of General Services be authorized to secure bids for road improve-
ments at the Fire Training Center at a cost not to exceed $1,500.00.
Ayes: Mr. Horner, Mr. Myers, Mr. Apperson and Mr. O'Neill.
On motion of Mr. Myers, seconded by Mr. Apperson, it is resolved that on the
recommendations of Chief Robt. Eanes, fire hydrants shall be installed at the
Crestwood Elementary School, Chester Intermediate and Meadowbrook High School
at a total cost of approximately $5,600.00.
Ayes: Mr. Homer, Mr. Myers, Mr. Apperson and Mr. O'Neill.
On motion of Mr. Myers, seconded by Mr. O'Neill, it is resolved that Chief
Robert Eanes be authorized to sell the old Ettrick aerial ladder truck at
public auction, at a beginning price of $12,000.00 .
Ayes: Mr. Homer, Mr. Myers, Mr. Apperson and Mr. O'Neill.
On motion of Mr. Apperson, seconded by Mr. Myers, it is resolved that Chief
Robert Eanes be authorized to sell, at Public Auction, Unit 32, located at
the Bensley Fire Department, Unit 72, located at the Clover Hill Fire Depart-
ment, Unit 82, located at the Matoaca Fire Department and unit R-i, located
Chesterfield Courthouse. These vehicles to be sold at the same time as the
aerial ladder truck.
Ayes: Mr. Hornet, Mr. Myers, Mr. Apperson and Mr. O'Neill.
.On motion of Mr. Myers, seconded by Mr. O'Neill, it is resolved that the
Director of General Services Services be authorized to secure bids to renovate
a portion of the upstairs of the Ettrick Fire Department for paid firemen.
Ayes: Mr. Hornet, Mr. Myers, Mr. Apperson and Mr. 6'Neill.
On motion of Mr. Myers, seconded by Mr. O'Neill, it is resolved that the
Director of General Services be authorized to secure bids for three (3)
pumpers and One (1) tanker fire apparatus.
Ayes: Mr. Horner, Mr. Myers, Mr. Apperson and Mr. O'Neill.
On motion of Mr. O'Neill, seconded by Mr. Apperson, it is resolved that this
Board go into Executive Session to discuss personnel matters.
Ayes: Mr. Hornet, Mr. Myers, Mr. Apperson and Mr, O'Neill.
Reconvening:
On motion of Mr. OINeill, seconded by Mr. Apperson, it is resolved that the
Director of General Services be authorized to secure bids for a shelter over
the area around the gasoline pump at the County garage.
Ayes: Mr. Homer, Mr. Myers, Mr. Apperson and Mr. O'Neill.
On motion of Mr. O'Neill, seconded by Mr. Apperson, it is resolved that this
Board adjourns at 10:50 P.M. to November 14, 1973 at 9:00 A.M.
