Summary of Actions Taken by the Board on October 26, 2016
3:00 P.M. SESSION
COUNTY ADMINISTRATION UPDATE
Ms. Delores Glascoe, customer service representative in the Utilities Department, was
recognized for outstanding customer service to a new resident.
Mr. Robert Eanes was recognized for 50 years of service to Chesterfield County.
Students who participated in Model County Government attended the meeting and were
introduced to the Board of Supervisors.
Mr. Larry Haake, Registrar, updated the board on preparations for the 2016 Presidential
election.
Dr. Casey reported that the county recently received V3 re-certification through the
Virginia Values Veterans Certification Program.
Dr. Casey introduced Clay Bowles, who was recently appointed Director of General
Services after service as assistant director for the past two years.
Dr. James Worsley, Director of Parks and Recreation, announced
purchase the River City Sportsplex facility. The county will hold an open house on November
2, from 3-7 p.m., for residents to ask questions about the planned purchase and tour the facility.
WORK SESSION
A work session was held to discuss the process for resubmittal of existing zoning cases with
cash proffers.

Adopted Resolution recognizing Mr. Dale Cannady for his service to the
Richmond Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
Adopted Resolution recognizing Battalion Chief Coris D. Throckmorton, Jr., Fire
and Emergency Medical Services, upon his retirement.

Mental Health Support Services, upon his retirement.
Approved Acceptance of state roads in Collington Section 14.
Adopted 2017 Legislative Program.
Approved Acceptance of a parcel of land along Awesome Drive from 6801

Approved Public hearing date of November 16, 2016, to consider various changes
to the County Charter.
Approved Transfer of District Improvement Funds from the Bermuda District
Improvement Fund to the Parks and Recreation Department for rentals
and labor associated with the annual Veterans Day Ceremony at
Bensley Park.
Approved Authorization for County Administrator to execute a lease for the
Chesterfield County Child Advocacy Center and appropriation and
transfer of existing funds to Youth Planning and Development.
REPORT
Accepted Report of Planning Commission Substantial Accord Determination for
Chesterfield County Public Schools (Case 17PD0105) to permit a public
elementary school in an Agricultural (A) District.
DINNER MEETING
A joint meeting of the Board of Supervisors, School Board and the
Delegation was held at the Eanes-Pittman Public Safety Training Center.
