There was read a lette from the Department of Welfare and institutions concernmng
the ~quest of the County for an additional $25~000.00 for the State's reimburse-
ment for Amelia County toward the enlargement of the jail facilities in the
County. In general, the request was denied.
On motion of ~ir.Dietschtseconded by Mr.Purdy, it is resolved that the Personal
Property taxes for the year 1967 and 1968 be given to the Professional Data
Services~ Inc. for collection.
On motion of i~r.Browningt seconded by Mr. Appers6nr it is resolved that the
following-erroneous tax claims be and they hereby are approved for payment:

This d~y the C~nty Road Engineer in accordance with directions from this Board
made report in writing upon his examination of Greenfield Drgver Olympic Road,
~lympic Court and Milbrook Drive in the Subdivision of GreenfieldrSection,,C,,~
in Midlothian Magisterial District.
Upon consideration whereoft and on motion of Mt.Martinr it is resolved that
Greenfield Drive~ Olympic Roadr ~lympic Court and Milbrook Drive in the
Subdivision of Greenfield~ Section "C" Midlothian Districtr bet and they
hereby are establ~qshed as public roads.
And be it further resolved~ that the Virginia Department of Highways~ bet and
it hereby is requested to take into the Secondamv System~ Greenfield Driver from
its intersection with Rt.2540~ northwardly .06 miles to Olympic Road, thence
northwardly .15 mile to Milbrook Drive~ Olympic Road~ from its intersection
with Greenfield Driver westwardly .06 miles to Olympic Court} thence w~stwardly
.07 mile to Woodmont Drive~ Olympic Court, from its intersection with Olympic
Road, northwardly .07 mile to a cul-de-sac~ Milbrook Driver from its intersection
with Greenfield Drive, southeastwardly .02 mile. These roads serve 34 houses.
And be it further resolved, that the Board of Supervisors guarantees to the
Virginia Department of Highways 50-ft. rights-of-way for these roads. Plat
recorded in Plat Book 15~ Page 23~ on March 18, 1966.
Mrs. Gene Knoop, County Librarian, Mr.W.W.Gordon and Mrs. S£ngeman, from the
Library Board come before the Board of Supervisors citing the groWth of the
Library System in the County and requesting some indication as to the avail-
~bility of funds for the capital expansion in the Library System.
after a general discussion of the many facets of this problem, it was agreed
that the Library Board would submit suggested programs and an estimated cost so
that these expenditures could be scheduled.
On motion of ~r. Purdy~secon~ed by Mr. Appersont it is resolved that this Board
adjourns to Executive Session to discuss with the Commonwealth,s Attorney certain
matters in litigation.
Recalling the Board to order~ it is on motion of Mr. Appeeson, seconded by Mr.
Purdy~ resolved that this Board adjourns at 6'00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. on
December 237 1970. '
