On motion of Mr. Apperson~seConded by Mr.Martin~ it is reSolved that the sum
~, of $1920.00 be appropriated from the unappropriated surplus to the Department
i of Social Services to pay the County's share of Data Processing services.
On motion of Mr. Dietsch~seconded by Mr.Apperson~ it is resolved that some of
the offices in the Department of Social Services be painted or paneled to
eliminate the present wall condition.
There were presented resolutions from King George County and Lancaster County
in opposition to the current provisions of the Virginia Code concerning the
Counties' Welfare budgets.

On motion of Mr.Browning~seconded by Mr.Martin~ it is resolved that the Highway
Department be requested to improve Simmons Street in the Village of Ettrick
and charge same to the 3~ Road Fund of the County.
There was read a letter from Mr.H.G.Blundon, Secondary Road Engineer~Virginia
Department of Highways~ concerning the status of Industrial Access roads in
the County~ which letter is filed with the BoardSs papers.
The County was officially notified that the following roads have been accepted
into the State Secondary System:

A Court Order appointing Dr. Robert M. Phillips to the Chesterfield County

and filed with the Board's papers.
On motion of Mt.Browning, seconded by Mr. Dietsch~ it is resolved that the'sum
of $400.00 be transferred from General Fu~ contributions to the Fire Training
071-322.
On motion of Mr. Dietsch~sedonded by Mr. Browning~ it is resolved that $25.00
be appropriated from the unappropriated surplus of the General Fund to Item
189-199.1 to provide money for the County's trial against the City of Richmond.
There was presented an audit of the Clerk of Circuit Court, which audit commended
the Clerk for the excellent manner in which is records have been prepared.
On motion of Mr.Dietsch~seconded by Mr. Browning~ it is resolved that the petitio~
from the Rock Creek Park area endorsing the Countyts application for a City
Charter be received and a letter of thanks sent.
On motion of Mt. Browning,seconded by Mr.Dietsch~ it is resolved that this Board
request the Commonwealth,s Attorney to prepare an omnibus deed for the acquisition
of rights-of-way necessary for a State road to be constructed on Butler's lane.
On motion of Mr. Apperson,seconded by Mr. Dietsch~ it is resolved that this Board
go into Executive Session to discuss personnel matterso
