It was generally agreed that the date of June 14, 1971 at 7:30 P.M. be set
as the time to discuss with the Chiefs of the various Fire Departments a
~ set of fire policies recently circulated.
On motion of Mr. Browning, second, ed by Mr. Martin, it is resolved that the
~ proposed Zoning Ordinance Amendments concerning Mobile Home Parks, Mobile
Home Subdivision, Modular Homes and Travel Trailer Parks, be referred to
~' the Planning Commission for recommendations.
There was read a letter from Dr. J. R. Thomen, from DuPon~, thanking the
Bensley Fire Department and Chief Eanes for their help in a recent catastrophe.
On motion of Mr. Dietsch, seconded by Mr. Apperson, it is resolved that the
~, erroneous tax claim of Mr. George D. Miller in the amount of $9.00 be and it
· hereby is approved for payment.
~There was presented a letter from Mr W.'R. Davidson, Resident Engineer,
Virginia Department of Highways, concerning the cost of improving Luck's
Lane, which cost was estimated to be $10,322.40.
, Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of ~r. Martin, seconded by Mr.
ilAppersOn, it is resolved that a letter be written to Mr. TramJne! requesting
the right-of-way for this road upon the consideration that the Board will
recommend to the Highway Department that~his road be taken into the Secondary
Road System as a Rural Road on July 1, 1971.
ii WHEREAS, +he Virginia Electric & Power Company has spent considerable time
,' and effort 'in producing a compilation of industrial sites in the County of
~i Chesterfield, and
WHEREAS, this work is designed to aid in the acceleration of the Industrializa=
tion Program in the County,
i NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, on motion of Mr. Dietsch, seconded by
i Mr. Apperson, that this Board publicly thanks the Virginia Electric and
i Power Company and all the officials who had a part in making this site survey.
' It was cited that the plans for the addition to the Jail had been reviewed
by the Sheriff, Building Inspector, Fire Marshal, County Planner and County
Engineer, and all were in general accord that said plans were in order. Upon
i consideration whereof, and on motion of Mr. Apperson, seconded by Mr. Dietsch,
is is resolved that the County's architects, Hinnant, Addison and Hinnant,
i be authorized to see~ bids for this construction With the provision that said
i building be completed by September, 1972.
i On motion of Mr. Browning, seconded by Mr. Apperson, it is resolved that
'the following ordinance be advertised for hearing in June, 1971:
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND Chapter 17, Section 17-5.1 of the Code of the
County of Chesterfield, Virginia, applying to Townhouse (TH-l) Zoning
Classific?~tion, b)f Droviding for required area, percentage of lot
coverage, 'required front, yard, side yard and rear yard, within said
district~ providing further for dwelling size, height regulations,
limitation on number of units, architectural treatment within said.
~istrict[ providing further for a party wall, regulations concerning
common areas, density limitations, minimum acreage, off street parking,
frontage on public street and recreational area requirements, and provides
further for approval of site plans for recreational facilities and
when occupancy permits to issue.
There was presented a list of the Primary Fund allocations, particularly
as they pertain to the County of Chesterfield, a copy of which is filed
with the papers of this Board.
On motion of Mr. Dietsch, seconded by Mr. Apperson, it is resolved that this
Board go into Executive session to hear the County's counsel.
Reconvening-
It is on motion of Mr. Apperson, seconded by Pit. Martin, resolved that a
resolution adopted April 19, 1971 in relation to the purchase of a fire engine
for the Midlothian Fire Department be and it hereby is rescinded and that the
County ~Burchasing AgeKt be authorized to purchase the John Bean truck with a
1500 gpm pumper for the Midlothian Fire Department.
It is here noted that Mr. Dietsch and Pit. Purdy vote No.
