There was presented a resolution passed by the School Board on January 12, 1972,
requesting the Board of Supervisors to provide twenty-eight nurses in the County
Health Department for the School Nursing Program and it was generally agreed
that this matter would be discussed with the Health Department at its budget
hearing.
On motion of Mr. Apperson, seconded by Mr, Myers, it is resolved that the County
again join the National Association of Counties and pay the required fee of $486.00~
Ayes: Mr. Horner, Mr. Myers, Mr. Apperson and Mr. O'Neill.
On motion of Mr. O'Neill, seconded by Mr. Myers, it is resolved that the roadway
into the County airport be officially designated as Airfield Drive and the road
into the industrial complex be officially designated as 17hitepine Road.
Ayes: Mr. Horner, Mr. Myers and Mr. O'Neill.
Nays: Mr. Apperson
On motion of Mr. Myers, seconded by Mr. Apperson, it is resolved that the
following erroneous tax claims be and they hereby are approved for payment:

On motion of Mr. Apperson, seconded by Mr. Myers, it is resolved that th~
Executive Secretary make a bona fide offer to Mr. Harold R. Francis for the
.976 acres of land lying on the east side of Rt. 10 and being a narrow parcel
of land separating the County's property from Route 10 at the site of the
proposed vocational school and if said offer is not accepted that condemnation
proceedings be instituted.
Ayes: Mr. Horner, Mr. Myers, Mr. Apperson & Mr. O'Neill.
There was read a notice that the Virginia Electric & Power Company case for
increased electric rates had been continued until April 20, 1972.
On motion of Mr. Apperson, seconded by Mr. Myers, it is resolved that the
Executive Secretary be and he hereby is authorized to sign a contract with
Shoosmith Bros., being the low bidder on certain construction work in the
Safety Village Program and that Phase I of this construction be and it hereby
~s approved. .

There was some discussion concerning the request of Miss Lucy Corr, Director
os Social Services, for additional space at the Welfare Building and it was
generally agreed that this matter be investigated further.
On motion of Mr. Apperson, seconded by Mr. Myers, it is resolved that this
Board adjourns at 12:30 A.~{. until 4:00 P.M. on February 16, 1972.
