The Chairman called the meeting to order to d~scuss the fire probiems in the
County and various proposals of the District Chiefs' Association.
Chief Lohr states the recommendations for up-grading the personnel in the
Ettrick and Dale Fire Departments and suggested a Flying Squad for the Village
of Chester to be housed in the present Fire Department for a period of one (1)
year or until space is available.
Chiefs Dorsey, Conyers, Van Bowen and Varnier cite instances where paid firemen
would be of great benefit to all departments.
Chief Eanes cites the various needs amounting to approximately $1,000.00 each
for the various Fire Departments.
Chief Lohr and others cite the necessity for bringing the sCale of paid fire-
fighters to a par with those of the Police Department.
It was generally agreed that a five KS~ generator be purchased for the Wagstaff
Company, that a radie be secured for the Chief Electrical Inspector's car,
that the Manchester Department be reimbursed $400.00 for lighting and other
equipment installed at the new fire station and that a fire hydrant be
installed in the vicinity of Willis Road and Route 1.
Chief Eanes cites certain equipment repairs necessary and improvements to the
County Garage where fire engines are repaired.
There was held a general discussion of all of these items.
On motion of Mr. O'Neill, seconded by Mr. Myers, it is resolved that this
meeting be adjourned at 11:45 P.M. to 9:00 A.M. on March 8, 1972.
