Proposal
The applicant proposes to operate a business from her home, offering horse riding lessons, and
horse boarding and training. The property consists of two parcels; improvements
accommodating these uses would be located on the southernmost parcel (6200 Hickory Road).
Construction of a riding ring and an arena is proposed where therapeutic riding lessons would
be provided to both children and adults with exceptional needs (cognitive, physical and

CONDITIONS
Note: The following conditions are recommended by both the Planning Commission and Staff.
1. Non-Transferable Ownership. This Conditional Use shall be granted to Kathleen Nevada
Jones, exclusively, and shall not be transferable nor run with the land. (P)
2. Use Permitted. This Conditional Use shall be limited to the following:
Teaching of horseback riding and other horse training skills, with a maximum of six
(6) students receiving lessons at any one time, and
Boarding of up to three (3) horses

5. Hours of Operation. Hours of operation shall be limited to between 7 am and 7 pm daily.

6. Employees and Clients. A maximum of 4 employees/volunteers, other than the applicant
and persons residing in the home, shall be permitted to work on the premises for the
horse riding, training and boarding business at any one time. (P)
7. Signage. One freestanding sign, not exceeding five (5) square feet in area and four (4)
feet in height, shall be permitted to identify the training/boarding facility. (P)
8. Maintenance. All facilities and areas associated with the keeping of horses (stable,
pastures, etc.) shall be cleaned and made free of waste on a regular basis. In addition,
the property owner shall employ a means of eliminating any odor problems and
propagation of insects. (P)
