Casey Summary of Actions Taken by the Board on July 26, 2017 3:00 P.M. SESSION WORK SESSIONS Dr. Casey recognized Officers Jonathan Sorley and Brian Simmons along with resident Andre Harris, for their help rescuing a driver from his vehicle after it crashed into a utility pole and caught fire. A work session was held to update the Board of Supervisors on the new organization design of Citizen Assistance and Resources. A work session was held to update the Board of Supervisors on the county’s internship program. A work session was held to update the Board of Supervisors on regional and local economic development. A work session was held to update the Board of Supervisors on Dominion Energy state and local affairs. A work session was held to update the Board of Supervisors on the 2017 County Fair. CITIZEN COMMENT PERIOD Ms. Jessica Coaker expressed safety concerns relative to the proposed path through A.M. Davis Elementary School and urged the Board to delay the project. Ms. Cindy Rustin expressed safety concerns relative to the proposed path through A.M. Davis Elementary School. Ms. Jessica Bosher expressed safety concerns relative to the proposed path through A.M. Davis Elementary School. 6:00 P.M. SESSION The Honorable Chris Winslow, Clover Hill District Supervisor, gave the invocation. Eagle Scout Michell Law led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America. 1 COUNTY ADMINISTRATION UPDATE Ms. Kiva Rogers, Social Services Director, highlighted a cooperative program with the Chesterfield Technical Center called Recycle Rides. Mr. James Worsley introduced Ms. Aleana McClellan, Therapeutic Rec Coordinator, who was recently recognized by the National Association of County Park and Recreation Officials.
