Hague, it is resolved that the Executive Secrevary write Lo Mr.P.R.Wallace and others signing a petition for fire hydrants on the Ha~rowgave Road, ~nd explain t~e present County oo!icies and the reasons for placing fire hydrants at their oresent locations. On motion of [~lr.Britton, seconde~ by ]'.~[r. Driskill, it is resolved that r~he Contract No~6102-20 in the amount of g~17~0,559.50 be awarded ~o the 'English Construction Company for cons~?ucting trunk sewers in the Pocosham Creek area, using concrete pipe. On motion of l~r.Britton, seconded bv Mr.Hague, it is resolved that the :~ontract No.6102-21A in the amount of ~72~175.50 be awarded ~o F.L.Showalter of Lynchburg, Virginia, for the installation of sewer lines in vhe Lancers Boulevard area. On motion of Mmv. Hague, secondes by Mr.Britton, it is resolved that vhis Board requesvs the Highway ~Department ~o repair the roads d~mased by the installation of sewers on Contract, s 6102-20, an~ 6102-21A in accordanSe with Items #8 and # 11 of attached Highway permits. This may the County Road Engineer in acccr.~!ance w~th directions from this Board made reporv in ~Y~iting upon his examination of Germont Avenue in Bellwood Heights~ Bermuda Msgisverial District, Chesterfield County, Virginia, which shows that in the opinion of the County Road Engineer it is expedient that said roads be established as public road. Upon consideration wher.~of, and on motion of ?gir~.Goyne~ it is resolved t'nat Germonv Avenue in Bellwood Heights, Bermuda District, be, and it hereby is established as a public road. Britton, it is resolved that the Executive Secrevary be directed to seek from the offici~is of the Highway Depart- ment's main office, the progress of plans and specificav~ons on improvements to Rattlesnake Creek drainage system as it crosses Cherokee Road, On motion o? Mr. Britton, seconded by Yr. Driski!l, it is r~solved that the Highway Department be ~e~uested to submit an estimate on the cost of replacing the one-lane bridge on ~t.6~7, east of Rt.650. WHERE~S, it appears that the one-lane oridge across Swift Creek on Rt.654 presents an extremely hazardous crossing for the traveling pub6ic; and ~'~HERE~S, it has been ~eported that oil trucks and similar vehicles refuse te ~cross said bridge; and WHEREAS, we have ~equested the Highway Department to in~estigave this condition and re~orn on same, Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of Mt. Hornet, seconded by Mr.Driskill, it is resolved theft this Board re~uests the Highway DepsrLment vo complete the necessary engineering, plans and specifications, as soon as possible, and that cons~.ruction be started on this bridge as soon as funds are available. There was read to the Board a let-oer concerning the use of the Industrial Access Funds, which letter is filed with the Bo~.~rd's papers. Burrundie Lriv~ - beginning at a oo~nt on Thurloe Drive 0.05 mile n~E of Route 1778 and running easv 0.03 mile to a dead end WI{EREctS, the bridge across The Brook a% the northeastern end of ~pruca Street is not maintained by the Highway Deoartment and presents a great traffic hazard; and WhE~iEAS~ the citizens of the area w411 benefit by the construction of a new bricge and have been requested ~o raise ,~2000 which is approximately one-third of 'the cost of the r.'.roject. Now, therefore, be iU resolved, on motion of Nr. Goyne, seconded by Mr.~ritton~ tb.~t this 9card requests the Highway Department to construct an adeauate bridge to cross The Brook on Spruce Street, as soon as one-third of the cos% of project is received from the residents of the ares or from interested citizens. On motion of Mr.Hagerman, seconded by Mr. Driski~ll, iv is resolved that this Board requests the Highway Department %o submit an estimated cosy of replacing one-lane bridge on Hickory Road and WoodDec~er Road. Hagae and the ExecutiveSecre;~a'.."y and if aDproved by these officials the provisions would be made that the two homses on ,this property would be used hy one family or the relatives thee'eof. Mr. John R. Towell comes before ~he Board requesting the rezoning from A~riculture ~o (C-2) General Conm~ercial of a parcel of land fronting 80 feet on the south line of Route 60 and 190 fe~t on the west line of Oak Glen Street being 600 feet wes~ of Warwick Roam end better known as Lot 6 in Block A of the Subdivision of Pinehurst, and states that he wishes to construct~a building f~m which he would sell chain length fence. Upon conside~-~ation whereof, and on motion of Mz~.Goyne, seconded [~y Mr,Britt. on~ ~e it ~tesolved, thar~ the Board doth determine that it is the best interest of the County that the prope~,y heretsfore conveyed to the County of Chesterfield from Geobge Edwa~!Robertson and his wife, recorded in Deed Book 3~.2, Page 303~ in she Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of tLis County, should be sold to J. Edward R~an an~ ?.~iary Maxwell Ryan, bis wife~ for the sum of ,$1500.00, provided the Judge of the Circuit Court of this 'Ucunty shall approve the same pursusnt to Section 15-692 of the Code of Virginia. U~on obtaining approval as aforesaid, the Chairman and :Clerk of this Boa~'d are authorized and empowered to execute sns delia, er a deed conveying the aforesaid nroperty to J.Edward Ryan and Mary I~L?~xwell Rvan, his wife, h~on the ~ayment of~t~ne purchase price o~ ~1500.O0, and to do any and all acts necessary and proper to carry into effect this resolution.
