This day Mrs. Lois Rowsey comes before the Board requesting a Use Permit to operate a Beauty Shop on a parcel of land fronting 85 feet on Fieldstone Drive and extending northwardly 154 feet, said parcel being Lot ll, Block A, in the Belmont Acres Subdivision, in bIsnchester Magisterial District. There appearing no one in opposition to this request; however, the Executive Secretary read a letter signed by a group of citizens in the area opposing said recuest; upon consideration whereof, and on motion of ~.Britton, seconded by ~.~Driskill, it is resolved that the Use Permit to operate a Beauty Shop on the aforedescribed parcel of land be and it hereby is granted. This day Mr.R. Pinkney Sowers, representing Mt. Ralph May, requests the rezoning from Agriculture to Residential-2 of a 330-acre parcel of land of irregular shape, fronting 2500 feet on Rt. lO and extending 5000 feet westwardly, said parcel being located at Cosby's Lake in Dale Magisterial District. Also, requests the rezoning from Agriculture to General Business of a 12.9 acre parcel of land fronting on Rt. 10, 975 feet and extending 670 feet, westwardly, said parcel being at the intersection of~Rts. 611 and 641, in Dale Magisterial District. There appearing no one in opposition to this request, however, certain citizens of the area asked questions concerning the proposed improvement to be placed on the aforedescribed parcel of land. Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of Mr.Hague, seconded by Mr.Goyne, it is resolved that the rezoning request on the above mentioned parcels of land be and they hereby are approved. This day Mrs. Annie Barden comes before the Board requesting a Use Permit to operate a Beauty Shop in Dale ~4agisterial District, on a Lot fronting 70 feet on the Cogbill Road and extending 160 feet northwardly, same being Lot 4, Block A, of Alice Heights. Come also, certain adjacent property owners investigating the conditions of the Use Permit. Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of Mir.Hague, seconded by ~4r. Goyne, it is resolved that a Use Permit to operate a Beauty Shop on the aforedescribed parcel of land be and it hereby is approved, subject to the condition that no signs be displayed advertising said operation. On motion of ~r. Britton, seconded by F~.Hague, it is resolved that the Old County Road, formerly called the Dyer Road, be and it hereby is officially named Dyer Lane. On motion of Mr.Hague, seconded by Mr. Britton, it is resolved that the following road names be changed in RockSpring Farms: Ro£k Spring Driv~ (that portion running west fromRt, lO to Garthdale Road) be called West Rock Spring Drive, and(that portion running south from dead end to Garthdale Road) be called South Rock Spring Drive. Garthdale Road (that portion running West from Catterick Road to Melbeck Road) be called West Garthdale Road, and(b]aat portion running south from Jamson Road to Melbeck Road) be called South Garthdale Road. Nelbeck Road, (~hat portion ruOning west from Garthdale Road to Garthdale Road) becalled West }4elbeck Road and (that portion running South from Garthdale Road passed Gilling Road to dead end) be known as South Melbeck Road. This day the Executive Secretary presented bids on the trucks for Dale and Forest View Fire Departments. Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of Mr.Britton, seconded by Mr. Goyne, it is resolved that action on the bids be deferred until the next meeting of the Board. On motion of Mr. Driskill, seconded by Mr.Hagerman, it is resolved that the Executive Secretary be and he hereby is authorized to write a letter to the City ~Ianager of the City of Richmond requesting sewer service to the area generally incorporated by the Craig Nell & Associates' Subdivision. On motion of Mr.Driskill, seconded by Mr. Hagerman, it is resolved that this Board adjourn until October 27, 1959 at 7:30 p.m.
