Board of Supervisors of Chesterfield County
held at the Courthouse on May 24, 1960,
at 8:00 p.m.

This day the County Road Engineer in accordance with directions from this Board
made report in writing upon his examination of Hansdale Road, McLeod Road and
Leporte Road, in the Broad Rock Manor Subdivision, in Manchester Magisterial
D~trict~ which report shows that in the opinion of the County Road Engineer it is
expedient that said roads be established as public roads.
Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of Mr. Britton, it is resolved that
Hansdale Road, McLeod Road and LaPorte Road, in the Broad Rock Manor, Manchester
District, be, and the same are hereby established as public roads.
And be it further resolved, that the Virginia Department of Highways be, and it
hereby is requested to take into the State Secondary System, Hansdale Road, from
the intersection of Rt.22~5 and Rt.2llS, .04 of a mile East to McLeod Road, thence
.0~ of a mile East to a dead end; McLeod Road, from a point on Hansdale Road .0~
of a mile East of Rt.2245, .07 of a mile North to $eaton Acres; LaPorte Road, from
a point onRt. 2116, .07 of a mile North'of Rt.2115, .03 o£ a mile westwardly to a
dead end. These roads serve 12 houses.
And be it further resolved, that the Board of Supervisors of ~Ohesterfield County
guarantees rights of way of not less than 50 feet to the Virginia Department of
Highways for these roads. Dedication of said rights of way recorded in Plat Book
Page 8 , Chesterfield Courthouse, Virginia.
This day the County Road Engineer in accordance with directions from this Board made
report in writing upon his examination of Brook Lane and Petersburg Street in
Chester Shbdivision, Bermuda Magisterial District, which report sho~s that in the
opinion of the County Road Engineer it is expedient that said roads be established
as public roads. Upon consideration whereof, and on motion of Mr. Goyne, it
is resolved that Book Lane and Petersburg Street in the Chester Subdivision, in
Bermuda District, be, and the same are hereby established as public roads.
And be it further resolved, that the Virginia Department of Highways, be and it
hereby is requested to take into the State ~qecondary System,Brook Lane, from a
point on Rt~ 1522, .lO of a mile southeast gf Rt.1)2~, .25 of a mile East and South
to Rt. 1530, which road serves 2~houses; Petersburg Street, from the southeastern
end of maintensm~e on Rt. ~1522, .23 of a mile southeastwardly to Daniels S~reet.
This r cad serves 3 houses.
And be it further ~resolved, that the Board of Supervisors of ~hes~erfield County

On motion of Mr.Goyne~ seconded by R~.Britton, it is resolved that the ~xecutive
Secretary be authorized to follow the policy of the Board on the reque~ to improve
Bremo alley in the Vil~ ge of Chester.
On motion of ~r. Goyne, seconded by R~r.Britton, it is resolved that Mr. Hagerman be
and he hereby is appointed a member to the Appomattox ~iver ~at er Authority from
~hest erfield County.
On motion of Mr.Hagerman, seconded by ~%r.Hague, it is resolved that this Board
approve the contract with Van Doren Bros. for the construction of a sewer line
on Court Street in Ettrick.
The Budget for the year 1960-'61 was discussed.
On motion, the meeting is adjourned until May 26, 1960, at 2:00 p.m.
