Uoon consideration whereof, and on motion of ~".r. Uritton, it is resolved that 59th Street in the Subdivision of ~foodstock, Section C-4, Manchestmr Magisterial District, be, and the same is hereby established as a public road. And be it further resolved, that the Virginia Department of Highways, be, and it he~'eby is requested to take into the Secondary Road System of Chesterfield County, 59th Street, from its intersection with Rt.1252 and Rt. t254, .OS of a mile northwardly to a dead end. This road serves i houses. And be it further resolved that the Board of Supervisors of Cheste~f~ eld County guarantees to the Virginia Department ol~ Highways, right of way of not less than 50 feet for this road. Dedication o~ said right of'way in Plat Book 8, Page 179, Chesterfield Courthouse, Virginia. On motion of Mr. Britton, seconded by Mr. Driskill, it is resolved that this Board of Supervisors approve the location of Rt.892, Project 0892-O20-111--112, and states its approval of the North Route of the two alternates of this road. And be it further resolved, that this Board request the Highway Dep~rtment to declare Rt. 892 a limited access highway. And be it further resolved, that this Board expresses its intention to record the application of F.A.S.Funds to the u~.timate completion of said Project. On motion of Mr.Britton, seconded by Y~r. Driskill, it is resolved that this Board request the Highway Department to construct a ~ox c~lvert at the crossing of Rattlesnake Greek and Cherokee Road and to pay for same from the proceeds of 'the 1960-1¢ gas tax increase. This day again the ratter of drainage on Third Avenue comes before the Board. Come also Messrs. Sims, ~rks and Ridley, and other to discuss the various aspects of this problem. After lengthy consideration and on motion of Mr. Hagerman, seconded by ~'lr. Goyne, it is resolved that this Board request th~ Highway Department to proceed with the drainage of Third Avenue as per plans of the County Engimering Department and that the County pay the sum of ~!O0.00 to I~ir.E.E.~arks for damages, provided he will sign an easement 7-ft. wide on the rear end of his property. It is ar~erstood that Mt. Marks will furnish sufficient 18" pipe to cross his property and that the County will install same at the time of construction. Mr.R.V.Lancaster, III, Resident Engineer, Virginia Department of Highways, presented in writing ~stimates of establishing a Railroad crossing for the Southern RR. to connect Bloomfield Road and Stratford Road and cited the fact that a grade crossing could be constructed for approximately ~50,00Oo00. ~pon consideration wher~-:of, and on motion of ~lr. Britton, seconded Driskill, it is l~'esolved that the County Engineering Departmen~ be requested to get permission from the Southern RR. for a grade crossing and to get by contribution, if possible, the remaining rights of way to effect this crossing. Mr. Driskill ~uestions Mr. Lancaster concerning the driveways of Wagstaff Fire Department and the Bon Air Presbyterian Church. On motion of Y~r.Hagerman, seconded ~:y kr.Hague, it is resolved that the Executive Secretary be requested to send to the Highway Department a copy of the petition requesting the widening of three bridges on Hickory Road and requests the Highway Department to consider same for corrective action in the 1962-'63 budget. I'~ir.i~iarshall Jones gives a brief picture oJ brucellosis in the County and states that the Department of ~griculture will vaccinate all heifer calves to eradicate this disease, and requested the Board to ~ay for the services of one man for approximately three weeks each year for three ye ars to aid in the vaccination of the heifer calves in the County of Cheste.~zeld.
