SESSION COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR'S COMMENTS Volunteers from the Horseplay Program presented the Board with $1,970 in checks received from a fundraiser horseshow to be used by Parks and Recreation for the therapeutic riding program. Ms. Elizabeth Foster, partner with KPMG, LLP, formally presented the Board with the County's FY2001 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report prepared by the Accounting Department. RESOLUTIONS AND SPECIAL RECOGNITIONS Adopted Resolution recognizing Senior Police Officer Berrymond R. "Bubba" Burgess upon his retirement. NEW BUSINESS Adopted Chesterfield County's 2002 Legislative Program, as amended. APPOINTMENTS Approved Appointment of Ms. Emily Wyatt to the Youth Services Citizen Board. CONSENT ITEMS Adopted Resolution supporting the re-qualification of the Crater Regional Partnership under Virginia's Regional Competitiveness Program. Approved Award of construction contract for the Wastewater Pump Station flow meter rehabilitation project. Approved Change order for the Great Branch Tributary Sewer Assessment Districts A and B project. Approved Change order for the Route 1 Waterline Improvements, Phase III project. Approved Request from Wayne P. Aldridge, June B. Aldridge and Keith W. Aldridge for an exception to the use of public wastewater for proposed residential structures located on Newbys Bridge Road. Approved Public hearing date of December 19, 2001 to consider amending the County Code to allow for collection of emergency response costs incurred in responding to Driving Under the Influence (DUI) incidents. Approved Public hearing date of December 19, 2001 to consider amending the County Code to increase the penalty for unlawful parking, clarify the provisions regarding unlawful parking in Handicap Zones, and streamline the process for contesting parking notices. Approved Public hearing date of December 19, 2001 to consider revisions to FY2002 School Board Grants. Approved Public hearing date of December 19, 2001 to consider amending the County Code to include background checks for employees who provide maintenance services at County Schools. Approved Referring to the Planning Commission the development of a Spot Blight Ordinance for dilapidated buildings for study and recommendation.
