Lee Ware, Jr. Community Development The Honorable John C. Watkins Mr. Barber called the adjourned meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. He welcomed members of the legislative delegation. Dr. Morgan, who has been assisting Ms. Curtin with Human Services issues at the General Assembly, was introduced to the legislative delegation. Mr. Barber requested that Ms. Curtin brief the Board and other attendees on county legislative requests and concerns. Ms. Curtin requested that Delegate Nixon, patron of several of bills relative to group homes, share the status of the various bills and studies related to the county's youth group homes request. Delegate Nixon reviewed the positive results which have been achieved thus far with House Joint Resolution 685; House Bills 2461 and 2881; and Senate Bills 1304 and 1333. The discussion then turned to the two cash proffer bills under consideration by the General Assembly. The Board and staff expressed their difficulties with these two bills. Transportation was the next topic discussed. Senator Watkins shared the progress of Senate Bill 985 related to advance funding requests that he is carrying for the county.
