This day the Executive ~ecre~ary present,~d a letter from James E.Martin,who now handles the maintenance of poli!~e radio system, which letter cited the fact that due to three (3) additional cars the contract ~rice would be increased to $1~3.00 ')er month. Upon consideration whereof,and on motion of Mr. Gunter, seconded by Dr (;ill, it is resolved that this Hoard a~prove the increase in the a~,reed price of maintaining: the police radio system. This day there appeared a delegation from the Ivey Tract Subdivision citing the fact that North Street, South Street, Pauline Street, Meridian Avenue and Edgewood Drive were not improved sufficiently to ~kve general egress amd ingress d[iFing the water months, Mr. Goyne presented a petition signed by some Six}, persons, which petition requested some improvement to said roads [n the area. UDo~ consideration whereof and on mot[on of }Ir.G~yne, seconded by Mr. ~ritton, i~ is resolw~d that this matte~ be stud~ed by the County Road Engineer and Resident ~;n~]neer of the Virginia Department of ]{i,~hways, with regard to the possibility of the hard-surfacing of these str,~ets. This day Mr.O.F.Kol]am, Resident Engineer', relier}ed that certain legal requirements would }]ave to be fulfilled Ln order to abandon the Reams Road which road the [~oard had previously requested Lobe included into its Heoondary System. Upon consideration whereof and on motion of )~r. GunteF, seconded by Mr. Brittem, it is r~solved that this matter bo referred to the Commonwealth's AttoTney for a study of the possible ways in which the maintenance of this road may be abandoned.
